Union Public Service Commission came into existence through the Government of India and the chairman of the commission and other members are appointed by the President of the country. Most of the members of the commission are government servants with not less than 10 years of experience of working either in a central government or state government organization.

Recruitment by UPSC:

Union Public Service Commission has invited applications from eligible candidates for the position of Air Safety Officer (Engineering) to work in the office of the Director General Civil Aviation under Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Name of the Position: Air Safety Officer (Engineering) (Vacancy No.11071402623)

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies in 43, which is divided among the different categories as follows

SC - 05

ST – 03

OBC – 11

UR – 24

Pay Scale: Rs.15600-39100/- (PB-3) + Rs.5400/- (Grade pay) + plus NPA as admissible. Approximate Total Emoluments would be Rs.31,710/-

Eligibility requirements:

Educational qualification & Experience: To apply for this position, candidates must possess degree in Aeronautical Engineering from a recognized university or they must have passed in the Associate Membership Examination Part II and III/Section A & B of the Aeronautical Society of India. Preference will be given to candidates with experience of working as a pilot/navigator or experience in investigation of aircraft accidents.

Application fee:

Candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs.50 towards Central Recruitment fee stamp only. This fee is not applicable to women, PH, ST and SC candidates.
