Bihar Public Service Commission was established on April 1, 1949 as a result of its seperation from the Commission for the States of Orissa and Madhya Pradesh. Its seperation from the commission for the states of Orissa and Madhya Pradesh resulted in accordance with Government of India Act, 1935. The commission became a constitutional body under Article 315 of the Constitution of India. Initially, the commission had its headquarter located at Ranchi but later its was shifted to Patna in the year 1951. Shri R. J. M. Pillai is the current chairman of the commission.

Job Profile:

Bihar Public Service Commission invites applications from eligible Indian Citizens for filling up the posts of Assistant Prosecution Officer under Department of Home of Bihar Government. The commission will conduct a Competitive Written Examination followed by a Interview test for making recruitment of best suitable candidates on the specified position.

Eligibility:

The maximum age limit set for the Male candidates is 37 years as on 1 August 2010. However, the maximum age limit set for the Female candidates is 40 years. The maximum age limit or upper age limit set for the candidates belonging to SC/ST categories (bothe male and female candidates) is 42 years. Those candidates who belongs to OBC categories are required to have age less than 40 years for applying for the position of Assistant Prosecution Officer in Department of Home of Bihar Government.

Educational Qualification:

The minimum educational qualification required for the post of Assistant Prosecution Officer in Department of Home of Bihar Government is Graduation. Interested candidates must have done Graduation in Law from a recognized institute or university of Government of India. Candidates having qualification less than the prescribed one, will not be considered eligible for the specified post.

Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be given the prescribed amount of salary i.e. Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4800.

Application Fee:

Application fee for General and OBC candidates: Rs. 350 only
Application fee for SC/ST candidates of Bihar region: Rs. 125 only

Candidates must submit or deposit the prescribed amount of appplication fee in any branch of State Bank of India. The payment of the application fee must be submitted by the means of a payment challan only. The payment challan can be easily downloaded from the website of the commission.

How to apply: Applications must be sent in the prescribed format only. The complete application form alongwith the other required enclosures should be sent by Speed Post or Registered Post only. The enclosures should be kept in an envelope superscribed with the name of the post applied for. The address to which the envelope should be mailed is given below:
