Details of Havildar Recruitment in Indian Army-2013
Havildar recruitment in Indian Army is conducted for two groups of candidates – Group X and Group Y. Those candidates having qualified B.Sc, B.Ed, B.A, BCA, M.A, M.Sc, or MCA courses are categorized under Group X category while BA, B.Sc or BCA qualified ones can attend Group Y category recruitment. Selection process for both categories comprise of screening, physical test, written exam and teaching aptitude test /interview.
Eligibility Criteria for Havildar Recruitment in Indian Army
The recruitment for Havildar post in Indian Army is organized for two main groups in Indian Army such as – Group X and Group Y. Graduation is the minimum qualification required to apply
For Group X category
It is possible to take any of the graduation or post graduation courses which is as follows –
- Bachelor of Arts
- Bachelor of Science
- Bachelor of Computer Applications
- Bachelor of Elementary Education
- Master of Arts
- Master of Science
- Master of Computer Applications
For Group Y category
Candidates need to complete graduation in any of the following courses -
- Bachelor of Arts
- Bachelor of Science
- Bachelor of Computer Applications
For both Group X and Group Y categories, B.A degree must be obtained in any of the following subjects.
Bachelor of Arts
- Urdu Literature
- Sociology
- Psychology
- Political Science
- Mathematics
- History
- Hindi Literature
- Geography
- English Literature
- Economics
Those holding Bachelor of Science / Bachelor of Computer Applications degree must have obtained the qualification in the following streams.
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Botany
- Zoology
- Biology
- Electronics
- Computer Science
Only male candidates can take part in the recruitment process. The age limit falls between 20 - 25 years.
Selection Procedure for Havildar Recruitment in Indian Army
The selection procedure includes the following sections -
Section 1 – Screening
An initial screening will be conducted for candidates based on the programme issued by the respective recruiting offices.
Section 2 – Physical Fitness Test
A detailed physical test will be administered for candidates covering the following physical procedures –
- 9’ Feet ditch - must pass
- Pull ups (Beam) - minimum 6 pull ups
- Run race - 1.6 Km — maximum time — 6.20 minutes
- Zig Zag balance - must pass
Section 3 – Written Examination
It is compulsory for candidates to pass the first two sections of selection to possibly attend the written exam. The written exam comprise of 3 parts which is mentioned below –
Part A – Compulsory paper – Total marks – 25 questions (each section) – Pass marks -10 marks (each section)
- General Knowledge
- General English
Part B – (For candidates of B.Sc/M.Sc/MCA/BCA level) - Total marks – 25 questions (each section) – Pass marks -10 marks (for each section)
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Computer Science
Part C – (For candidates of M.A/B.A level) - Total marks – 25 questions (each section) – Pass marks -10 marks (each section)
- History
- Geography,
- Political Science
- Economics
It is to be noted that for both Part B and Part C of written exam, candidates can choose any two subject sections of their choice and attempt the same.
Section 4 – Teaching Aptitude Test /Interview
On qualifying written exam, candidates should attend teaching aptitude test /interview. Depending on candidate’s performance in the same, the final merit list will be issued.
