After doing diploma I here that now rule is changed we can directly do B.Tech 3 year. Its correct or wrong please tell me. Please advise me for my future. Thanking you.

No, Diploma holders cannot get direct admission to 3rd year of B.Tech course. Candidates who have completed three years Diploma in Engineering course from any recognised institution are eligible to get direct admission in second year of four years B.Tech course through Lateral Entry admission process. To get lateral entry admission in B.Tech course, you must have to appear in Lateral Entry examinations like LEET, ECET, JELET, etc., which is conducted by your respective state entrance examinations board. By qualifying the entrance examination, based upon your examination rank, you will be allotted a seat in a particular college and you can get admission in second year of four years B.Tech course.

No, it is completely false that after completion of diploma course one can get direct admission in the third year of B.Tech engineering course. There has been no alteration in the rules and regulations. One can get direct admission in the third semester, i.e, second year of B.Tech course. Admission is done on the basis of Lateral Entry Entrance Test which is conducted by each state as well as various private universities.

No, after completion in diploma course, you can get admission in 2nd year of B.Tech course through lateral entry exam.

Those candidates who have completed diploma course with above 50% marks are eligible for lateral entry exam.

Your age should be above 17 years.
