sir my DOB is 03/04/93 IS AM ELIGIBLE FOR THE NDA 2 2011

hello sir,
a friend of mine wants to give NDA-2012 his D.O.B is 20-8-1993..
is he eligible for it.. kindly give details...

Only unmarried male are allowed to give NDA examination..
You can try for NDA examination which is held by UPSC 2 times in a year..
AGE-must be between 16-1/2 to 19 years
12th appearing or appeared students are eligible

Age limitation is between 16.5 - 19 years with no relaxation.

Minimum educational qualification is 10+2 pass candidates with physics , chemistry , maths with a minimum of 70% marks.

Only unmarried male candidates can apply for it.

The UPSC site gives clear instruction about the eligibility criteria for the candidate. You can see the details in the official website of UPSC about the required qualification of applicants. About 2011 NDA exam, the date of birth criteria is set like one who born after 2nd January of 1993 are eligible. Also all candidates born not later than 1st July of 1995 are eligible. So according to the norms you are not eligible for the NDA examination. But you can have your career in defense field by taking the CDS examination. The minimum qualification is degree. You can select a subject in gradation on your interest. For applying to navy one should have engineering degree. But for air force you need to have engineering or degree from a recognized university and one with degree in any disciple can apply for CDS in officer training.

*you must have Physics ,chemistry, math in your 12th..
so, you not fulfill the criteria , as your age is more than 19years according to your date of birth..

Its also depends upon the NDA exam itself,means the candidates who are not eligible for NDA-II are eligible for NDA-I and who are eligible for NDA-I but are not eligible for NDA-II.

For example you are not eligible for NDA-I because you were eligible for NDA-II which was held on august 2009.

Similarly the candidates who were not eligible for NDA-II at that time were eligible for NDA-I which was held in 2008.

for NDA your age must be between 16 to19.then you are only eliigible.

Sorry to reply late.As you mentioned your date of birth as 18.12.1991 but at that time you didn't fulfilled the age criteria because only those candidates were eligible at that time who were born between the dates 02.01.1992 to 02.1.1994. Below I have provided the eligibility criteria for the NDA entrance exam you can go through that.

Eligibility for NDA

NDA is the entrance exam for the admission in the India's NATIONAL DEFENSE ACADEMY.
The NDA exan is conducted by the UPSC twice in a year. One you clear all the exams in the NDA then you get a job under the government of India. After a training of one year after selection you get the permanent job.

The eligibility for the NDA exam is that one should have passed the 10+2 board exam from a recognized board , it is for the Army wing only.
But for the Air Force and the Navy you have to pass the 10+2 board exam from the recognized board and should have maths and physics as the compulsory subjects in the 10+2 board exam.

The age criteria is from 16.5 years to 19 years for the general category students.
Also there is upper age relaxation for the OBC of 3 years and for the SC/St there is 5 years of age relaxation on the upper age limit.
And the candidates must be unmarried from the Indian nationals.

You are not eligible because in the notification they have said that you should attain 16.5 or less than 19 years on the date of the commencement of the course.
You will be over aged on the day of the commencement of the course.
So, you are not eligible.

But you can try for CDS after completing your graduation.

sorry to says that but you are not eligible for appearing in this exam, as you are over aged, age limit for this exam 16 years and half to 19 years, for all the candidates.

NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY

this exam is conducted by UPSC(UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION) for two times in a single year.
for appear in this exam you must have to complete your 12th in PCM group with at least 60%.
the age limit for this exam is 16.5-19.
there is nothing about age relaxation for SC\ST\OBC acndidates

As your age is above 19 now you are noot eligible for NDA.

i think that you are not eligible as you have attained 19 years of age but the criteria reads as ....A candidate must be an unmarried male and have attained the age of 16 1/2 years and must not have attained the age 19 years on the 1st January or 1st of July of the year in the coming year of the year of examination. so sorry pal but beter luck in CDS hope you make a mark in that.

NDA (National Defence Academy) is one of the platforms through which you can express your indomitable spirit for your own country India.

Eligibility for Indian Army :
1:You should pass 12(10+2)th or its equivalent from State Board / Universities. you can also apply as appearing for 12th examination.

2:Marital Status:Unmarried

3:Sex :Male.

4:Age Limit : Between 16.5 and 19.

5:Nationality:
You have to be A citizen of India, or
subject of Bhutan, or
subject of Nepal, or
Tibetan refugee .

The UPSC (NDA) exam is conducted twice a year (April and October.

Selection Procedure: National Defence Academy selects the candidates in three phases :

i)A written examination by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC).

ii)An interview by the Service Selection Board(SSC) to check the potentialities Intelligence and personality.

ii)A medical examination by a Service Medical Board(SMB).

The written examination is of two papers of all objective type questions.

i)Mathematics of 2.5 hours maximum number 300 including Arithmetic, Mensuration, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics.

ii)General Ability test of 2.5 hours maximum number 600 including General English, General Knowledge,Physics,Chemistry,General Science,History,Freedom Movement,Geography,Current Event

After clearing the written exam you will be called for a five-day interview process with the State Selection Board (SSB) which is the final step of selection.

On completion of the NDA course, you are sent to the respective service academies for your pre- commission training.


Important dates/schedule of NDA-II exam-2011:

Date of notification of NDA exam- : 5th May , 2012

Last Date for Receipt of Applications either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier : 4th June , 2012

Date of Examination : 19th August, 2012.

Eligibility For NDA Exam

For appearing in the NDA (National Defence Academy) Exam..a candidate must satisfy the following minimum eligibility criterion :-

1) The candidate must be a 12th pass out or equivalent from a recognized board..

2) The candidate must be within the age limit of 16.5-19 years as seen on 1st July of the year of the exam..

Since,the candidates born on or before 2nd January,1994 will acquire the age of 16.5 by 1st July hence those candidates are eligible and the candidates born after 2nd January,1992 will just be eligible as they are still below 19 years of age when you see it on 1st July..

I am really sorry but you have just missed out by the skin of your teeth..

You still have the CDS (Combined Defence Services) in your hand for which you will be eligible if you complete your graduation..

For getting admission to the following academies the candidate should fulfill the respective age criterion :-

For Naval Academy : 19-22 years
For Air Force Academy : 19-23 years
For Indian Military Academy : 19-24 years
For Officer's Training Academy : 19-25 years

YES you are not eligible for NDA exam now. For present born year after 1994 is needed.If you are really interested in NDA i.e defence job then wait for CDS .
