Re: Can one prepare for IAS/IPS while doing job or while studying? Is it very tough?
hello dear
In present scenario, its more difficult to sustain a job than to get it. To be part of the growing industry, just a BTech or equivallent is not enough. So, you must continue with your higher studies i.e. MTech. Now as far as IAS/IPS preparation is concerned, it depends upon the knowledge and passion of the candidate. A casual approach towards these examination will never give you success in it. You need to give sufficient amount of time and follow disciplined routine. These examinations are not easy to crack and so, you got to be serious about it and it should never be optional. The one who succeed in these examinations, give their entire time for its preparation and I dont think that this could be done along with a 9-5 job. So, you better try to understand and realize the outcome of your actions and move further according to it... thank you |

I you want to become I.P.S officer then you have to take risk.. First you decide your aim and then think what you hva to do.. Without aim you can't achieve anything.. After graduation you can apply for I.P.S exam. I.P.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year. Age should be in between 21-30 year. For ST/SC candidate age should be in between 21-33 year. You can apply online or offline. The Form cost is just 20 Rs. For more detail log on to www.upsc.gov.in ALL THE BEST! |

But the exam is too hard and need to do lot of efforts and concentration. The only thing matter is how much time you spend for your other work, studies and how much time you manage for IAS/IPS Exam. So better you plan for all the things and start preparation. |

No you can't prepare while you are studying or doing job you concentration must be on preparation during the you study you can't hold two things you loss both if you do so
And it is not easy to study IAS/IPS as easy you think it need lot of preparation you should study deep about the subject then only you will get the points |

Re: Can one prepare for IAS/IPS while doing job or while studying? Is it very tough?
Your question is confused like you dear. Somewhere you said about 2 options but mentioned 3, at the same time you are saying M.tech then M.A. It is obvious that after B.A. , you can't pursue M.tech so it would be M.A.
The question is not the field but the aspiration, dedication and effort that you can put in. There is risk in every option and there is no risk at all anywhere if you are determined enough for it. There are people who have been selected in prestigious exams like IAS/IPS, State PCS and others while doing job or pursuing higher education. One thing that i can recommend with my experience is that you must pursue higher education i.e. M.A. and then B.ed to secure your future. At the same time you can prepare for civil services as well, however you must keep in mind that the max age limit for this exam is 30 years. Plan accordingly and do not get sceptical about your decisions at any stage. Consistent, disciplined and dedicated effort will surely bring fruitful results. |

Re: Can one prepare for IAS/IPS while doing job or while studying? Is it very tough?
I personally dont think that doing both m.tech and preparing for IAS is possible in any way side by side. Because IAS is a big platform where for success you need to focus for years ... It is not that much easy. So just do M.TECH.

Re: Can one prepare for IAS/IPS while doing job or while studying? Is it very tough?
its best to study m.tech in conjunction with preparing for IAS as preparing for it takes lot of time and because of its vast syllabus you have to dedicate some time for preparing , so while studying m.tech you can dedicate some time for preparation of at least 2-3 hours of IAS with your regular study of M.tech .
Regarding your job after completing you M.tech....there are so many options like depending upon your stream you can apply for IBPS exams,HPCL exam,..and so on .. best of luck for you future.... |

Re: Can one prepare for IAS/IPS while doing job or while studying? Is it very tough?
IAS is an central service and also deeply regarded as the
most prestigious job in the civil services. As you don't know the basic eligibility criteria for this I will try to explain the basic eligibility criteria require for this The main basic eligibility criteria for Civils Service Examination ->Candidate must have 21 years of age ->Candidate must complete at least degree from a recognized Indian University this is all about the basic eligibility criteria of CSE As per your qualification i.e., M.Tech (5Years) course You will be eligible for the exam which will be conducted by UPSC Delhi You can go through the examination code for Civil Service Examination in the official website of UPSC i.e. www.upsc.gov.in The exam will be conducted by UPSC this exam is conducted every year with the name of Civil service examination. For this exam there will be a huge competition so you have to be well prepared to face the examination the exam is conducted in the three stage format ->CSAT(Preliminary) ->Mains ->Interview In this way the exam will be go on for a year duration till you complete the full procedure but one note that if you fail in any of the stage you have to appear again from the first so it is the game with a little risk hope you will clear in your first attempt only all the best |

Re: Can one prepare for IAS/IPS while doing job or while studying? Is it very tough?
Hi,
I would suggest you to, do what is more appealing and interesting to you. Civil Services appeal to lots of people but to succeed, it needs lot of focussed approach and hard work. I have heard it takes at least 8 hrs a day to study and prepare for IAS/ IPS. So, if you can devote a good time in IAS preparation on a daily basis, then go for it because nothing is impossible for the self- determined. But , if not then go for higher studies, where you have shown your interest. You can prepare forbank jobs and other public companies jobs easily while doing M.Tech. So, rethink and decide yourself. |

Re: Can one prepare for IAS/IPS while doing job or while studying? Is it very tough?
Hello Dear friends,
I am working in a MNC for 10 hrs(9-7) per day but still i can manage to study 3-4 hours during week days and 10-11 hrs during weekends. I am a b-tech graduate(82%) with Information technology stream. i am good in mathematics.. i am interested in IES. so which subject ECE or mechanical will be good for me since i don't have any option to go for this with Information Technology Stream. is the time i mentioned will be enough for cracking a exam like IES???? On the top of it how much time will be sufficient for its preparation as only three attempts we can have for cracking it. if it is more than a year i will not write test in 2014 instead i will write in 2015. please help me clear my doubts.... |
