there are lots ,the best are arts subjects like history,geography and economics.
you can join after b.tech,or graduation with science disciplines.

Good,. No doubt, and no confustion . You are open to all the subjects. There is no special subjects to CS. So, You can opt for a subject of your interest,. Choose the most interesting subjects out of the given subject. So that you can prepare well without getting bored on few days of preparation.

No doubt. You are open to all the subjects. There is no special subjects to CS. So, You can opt for a subject of your interest,. Choose the most interesting subjects uot of the given subject. So that you can prepare well without getting bored after some days of preparation.

You haven't stated your specialisation. Normally, Aspirants would choose the subjects based on their specialisation.

But, My suggestion would be, Choose the subjects you interest the most,. You are good at. You wont get bored on preparation.

I am not saying, you should not take your specialised subject. You can if you are very good at it.

Hi,

You stated that you are from medical. If so, you have to options inprilims if going to choose based on your specialisation.

1- Animal husbandary and veterinary science
2- Medical science

you can also consider zoology.

For Mains, You need to opt for 2 optionals,

the above three , And also can take,
psychology, Anthropology if interested.

Note In mains, If you take Medical science then should not opt for animak husbandary and vice versa.

As you have taken Mechanical engineering as elective, You can take the same subject for UPSC CSE Examination. No problem

There is an Optional for mechanical engineering.
But for mains, You should choose two optional subjects,

Choose a subject which shows great interest to you. Choose in such a way that you should not get bored while preparing.

You haven't stated your specialisation. Anyways, As you ahve statedthese three subjects, I opine based on that.

I cant say which you should choose as it depends on your interest and proficiency, But will say the current scenario.

History- Normally chosen by all. Can expect good compete in that. A interesting subject. Was expected a scoring subject.

Political science- Also considerablyy preferred. Considered easy subject. again, high compete can be expected.

Economics - Nrmally chosen by aspirants who specialize in this. Considered little tough. average compete.

Choose subjects that gain great interest of yours.

you can take Electrical engineering as your optional subject in Priliminary examination of CSE UPSC.

But, In mains, You need to choose two subjects, You can take electrical as one optional again,

And for other, Choose a subject which gains atmost interest of yours. Do choose a subject that is not boring. take atmost care in choosing.

To my opinion, Yes. Its a wise decision. You chose these two subjects out of your interest, it shows. So, its obviously wise.

Doing maths, will obviously be interesting, If you are highly proficient. If you are good at maths, It is really a scoring subject. no doubt at it.

Public Ad is considered a easy and scoring subject.

as optionals.

Both courses are equally beneficial to write UPSC Examination. But no one can say which is beneficial after the UPSC examination.

You can apply. No problem at all. Who said you should possess mathematics to write CSE UPSC Examination.

Not at all. Who said, it is not a scoring subject?. If you are really good in mathematics, It is the only subject that can fetch you full marks. But the thing is you should be very good in mathematics. IF YOU ARE, THEN IT IS THE HIGHLY SCORING SUBJECT.

CSE goes on with two written examinations.

One is priliminary exam in which, one subject, you should choose for optionals.

Second is Mains, For this you should choose two optionals.

Optional chosen in prilims can be chosen as one optional in Mains.

Literally all these three are said to be considered tough. In this three, you can go for mathematics. because, If you are really proficient in mathematics, You can score really high.

About no of attempts,

It is based on category.
For General- 4 attemplts,
For OBC-7
and sc/sc- no restrictions

All this three subjects are good and considered the scoring subjects. For history, the race will be heavy. All the other two, Will be chased only by commerce specialised candidates. So choose based on your interest and your proficiency in these subjects.

Yes. You can take the subjects which are considering scoring. But if it is Boring?!!!!!. Gone! right?!!.

Choose the subjects, which to you, is scoring and interesting . Choose the subjects which gains your atmost interest and will not go boring while preparing.

Good. Since you are an agriculture student, You can take Agriculture as a subject for Priliminary Examination. Because the Competing for this subject would be considerably less.

For mains, You can take Agriculture as one subject.

For the other subject, My opinion would be, to take Botany. Solely my opinion, Coz it would be easy for you to prepare as you, an agri student. You can also take any other subject which will loot your interest. Which wont go boring.

I have answered to a similar question in the same thread and query no #51. You can check that suggestion and consider if you are interested.

There is no such permanent subject. Only general studies, Essay, English, and one regional language paper is considered permanent to all who take UPSC CSE Examination. All other subjects are your choice.

Both are considered easy and chosen by many. Many have cleared UPSC CSE Examination taking these two subjects as optional. Though, History is highly preferred comparing to Geography. Make choice based on your interest and be very clear in choosing.

Again, It is a tough question to answer. Because, It solely depends on your interest.

History is mostly preferred by many saying it is a scoring subject. But it is a very lengthy syllabus and the competing will be heavy.

Mathematics is obviously scoring and will fetch you full marks if correct. But the fact is, You should be highly proficient in mathematics. Many consider this, A tough subject.

Geography, also the same as History.

Sociology, public administration are considered easy but you should have the interest and patience to prepare these subjects.

SO FROM ALL THIS, WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY IS, CHOOSE THE SUBJECT WHICH HIGHLY ATTRACTS YOU AND GAINS YOUR INTEREST. WHICH WONT BE BORING. CHECK OUT.

Good. You chose one subject. Mech Engg is normally considered a bit tough. But, Dont panic. Why I mentioned that is, To suggest you to choose the other subject which wont be tough and boring for you to read.

Since, you have chosen mechanical engg., i suggest you to choose some subject which is theory based. Like, Public administration or sociolgy, like that.

If you do so, After working with problematic subjects like Mech Engg., It would be appealing to you when you read theoretical subject.

Friend, there are many subject in the IAS examination. What is right for you. it is depend on you. If you are a engineering student then i think that you must take science subject. It is very hard competation so labour hard.
