as you are from electronics and communication branch so if you want to do job in core company then you have to must improve your technical knowledge as well as communication skill and other personality development.


you have to know your main core subject like analog electronics, digital electronics, basic electronics, control system, microprocessor, analog and digital communication, VLSI etc.

if you want to do job in telecommunication sector then you must study the subjects telecommunication, computer communication and networking, internet technology, mobile communication, microwave etc.

some time electronics students prefer to do job in software field then you must know the C language and data structure. besides this you may do some courses on other language.

but for all type of job you have to improve your communication skill. you must speak english fluently. you must have professional attitude.

If you want to work in core companies on embedded systems then you have to make your knowledge VLSI,applied electronics .

<> Procedure to get placed

Usually all the companies recruit candidates from technical background.So, if you have proper technical knowledge then you will be definitely successful for the examination.Technical knowledge will not alone lead you through the examination as you even need to prepare for the Aptitude part.I have attached you the PSU examination pattern hence please go through it.

The first step which you can put forward is going through text books briefly so that you gain your knowledge technically.You can even watch videos from the below site

Gain proper knowledge and even try to solve bit of aptitude part from previous question papers.Try to solve more and more of previous exam question papers so that you can gain a bit of experience.

There is som much scope in public sector as well as private sector.So you can

get a jo in core side if you have the ability.The only one thing is require for a

good job in core site that you should have good knowledge about any

perticular field lie vlsi,embedded system.

These two fields are very good for a ECE engineer.SO choose any one of

First and foremost that most of the companies expect from the students is to have a good knowledge of your basics right from your first year of engineering. Since you belong to ECE, it is easy to get into the core companies but be bold enough to state what you possess in front of the employer. To be frank since it is not easy to remember all the subjects year wise thoroughly, prepare and try to improve in the main subjects like Electronic devices and circuits, Electronic Circuits-I&II, Signals and systems, Electromagnetic circuits, Digital electronics, Fiber optic communication, Linear Integrated Circuits, Transmission lines and Waveguides, Microprocessors and Antennas. Moreover, whether you opt for a core company or a software company, the employers are more keen on the communication skills and ability so when everything goes fine, be bold, have confinement in speech with technical skills, then success is yours, you can crack any sort of interviews!

In the case of campus interviews, the panel expects you know the basics of your core subjects andd C language.Along with this you need to have

Communication skills

Presentation skills
Leadership qualities
Achievements at national and state level events


Especially in technical round they will check your programming skills. So you must be good in C. It would be better if you have good foundation on your core subjects concepts. hey check them too.

dear friend ,

to get placed in the core companies one must have to maintain the good academics through the 4 year program of the B.TECH.

other thing is that one must be in the good colleges like IIT,S or NIT'S to get the opportunity to be p[laced in the core company.

there are the chances of other college students too to be placed in the core companies but as compare with the IIT'S and NIT'S it is less.

last important thing is that one must have to do internship in the better companies.

hey, if you want to get placed in *CORE Electronics* companies (as you mentioned) then let me first throw some light on this..

Core Electronics companies work is in EDA(electronic design automation) domain. Some of the best names in this field are CADENCE, MENTOR GRAPHICS, SIEMENS, SYNOPSIS, ALTERA etc.. These all companies work is chip-designing which is in turn done by a design-tool.
So, all these companies are thriving on providing the best and fast design-tool. Now, as an electronics engineer you can be selected in these core design companies to operate the tool and hence following skills are greatly desired :

(1) 60% above marks in 10th, 12th as well as engineering.

(2) sound technical knowledge mainly in Digital Electronics and it is an added advantage if you have good programming skills too(in C/C++/data structures).

(3) as chip-design is a sub field of VLSI, therefore you should be having knowledge of VLSI/CMOS(theory only)

(4) Last but most important one is to have knowledge of any one of HDL(HARDWARE DESCRIPTION LANGUAGE) - either VHDL or VERILOG..

Thus, this field is very bright in terms of ((CAREER GROWTH + INCOME)) and is estimated to expand more by the year 2015~

As a fresher you should be very much focused on your subject's basic concepts.
However if you can add up some skillls during the meantime that would be obviously of some advantage .

Take care of the following

Analog & Digital Electronics and Circuit simulation.
IC & VLSI
Networking

Further you can learn platforms MATLAB and LABVIEW.
