Dear friend, the exam for IPS is conducted by UPSC. There is no other exam for it different from IAS. It has the same exam as for IAS and the same selection procedure. The only thing differs by the result of IAS exam is the post you get which sometimes due to your low rank or your choice.

To join IPS you need to give exam for IAS for which you need to be a graduate at least holding a degree in any field from some recognized institute or university. Just after passing class 12th board you can not apply for the UPSC exam.

This exam consists of three parts:

1. Preliminary exam

2. Mains exam

3. Interview

You are eligible only if your age is in between 21-30 years if you are in general or OBC category. If you are in SC/ST category then you are eligible to give exam till the age of 35 years.

No, you are not eligible for IPS exam after completing 12th class. Indian Police Service (IPS) exam is also known as the Civil Services examination which is conducted by UPSC in every year. To appear in the civil Services examination you need the following eligibility criteria :

Educational Qualification = Graduation in any stream from a recognize University. The final year graduation students are also eligible to apply for the IPS examination.

Age Limit = The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of this examination. The age relaxation is also applicable for the candidates which belong to reservation category.

So, according to eligibility criteria you are not eligible to apply for the IPS examination. I advise you to first do graduation then you can apply for the IPS examination. sorry but you cannot join IPS after passing 12th becuase there is a eligibility criteria that you must have a degree from the recognized university or collage .........so for joining IPS you must have the bachelor degree.......

It's good that you want to join IPS then indian poice service butyou are not eligible yet.

IPS demands

Atleast a degree from recognized institute or university.

lower age limit is of 21 years

so you have to wait till the completion of your degree after
that yes you can give IPS exam and join.

The UPSC stands for union public service commision. This body is responsible for conducting various union level examination. Of them one is the Indian Civil Services Examination, held each year. The examination is a Three tier process. The priliminary examination is objective in nature. it is a day process and held each other in the month of May. In August the resulte are declared and the successful candidates are called for appearing in the Mains examination, which is spread in the months of october and November. In december the UPSC brings out a notification for the next years examination. In March your Main examination result is declared. IPS - Indian Police Service

This exam is cone of the Indian Civil service exam and the exam is conducted by UPSC and is held ever year.

you can not give ias exam just after doing 12th class. you will have to do graduation first because for giving ias exam, the student must have done graduation in any field with at least 60% marks. the age limit for the exam is 21 to 30 years which can increase to 35 years for sc/st students.
if you are having these qualifications, then only you can give the exam.
there will be three rounds in the exam. firstly, you will have to give the preliminary exam. this exam will be of objective questions.
after qualifying in that exam, you will have to give the main exam, which will be in written form.
after passing both the exams, you will be called for the personal interview.
after passing that interview, you will become an ias officer.

Its great to know that you want to be an IPS officer.But you are now too young to sit in the exams conducted by UPSC for the post of IPS.You are presently not eligible for these exams.the general criteria to sit for these exams is given below.
the candidate must be a Graduate from a recognized university and should have age between 20 to 30 years.The candidate should be a citizen of India.the age relaxation is permissible for OBC(3 years) and SC/ST(5 years).
So you are presently not eligible for IPS wait for your graduation and then apply for the exams.

The Basic Eligibility Criteria's to sit for the IPS exam are :

1)It can provide a handsome remuneration
