i m going to complete my diploma in electronics and telecommunication in april of this year.But i dnt have interest in tht department.
I hv joined diploma after 10th.I m very very interested to join air force.So i need ur help.

As from your Educational Qualification The only way to join Indian air Force is through NDA Exam.

NDA i.e National Defense Academy which is conducted by upsc twice every year.

One is in April and another is in August. Through NDA you can Go for Army Or air force or Navy & Naval academy.

This year's NDA Exam which is going to be held on April, notification for this has been over. you can apply for NDA II now.

The eligibility to write NDA Exam is

Educational qualification :-

10+2 or Equivalent(Diploma) students are Eligible for this. Final year students in Diploma are also Eligible.

Age limits :-

Your age must be in between 16 and half age till 19 years in order to Make Eligible for Write the Exam.

-->should have passed a 3 year Diploma course in Engineering(Mechanical,Electrical,Electronic,Automation,Computer Science,Instrumentation and Information Technology) with 50% Aggregate Mark.

It is very good that you want to join IAF. The future is bright in IAF.

Diploma holders can join IAF by two ways.

1. Join as a technician (PBOR)

For technician qualification is 10+2 ( with PCM) or Diploma (3 years)

Age limit for technician is 17 to 21 Years.

2. Join as an officer through NDA.

For officer through NDA qualification is 10+2 ( with PCM) or Diploma (3 years)

Age limit for NDA is 16 to 19Years and 6Months

You are not eligible to apply for the Indian Air Force after
the diploma. So you have to complete your 10+2 at least
to apply for the various jobs of Indian Air Force.

After the completion of your 10+2 you can join Indian Air force
through NDA exam as an Officer and as an Airman

National Defence Academy(NDA)
You can apply for the NDA after the completion of your 10+2.
The eligibility criteria required for the NDA exam is given below.

Education Qualification
Candidate should be 10+2 pass with Physics and Mathematics.
Those who appeared in the 10+2 examination are also eligible.

AGE LIMIT
Candidate age should be between 16.5 to 19 years.

AIRMAN
You can also apply as an officer after the completion
of your 10+2. But this is a non-officer rank.

Education Qualification
10+2 pass with 60% in overall subject. Candidate should have
physics and maths for group X and for group Y any stream
candidate can apply.

Age Limit
17 to 22 Years.

NDA exams are conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).

Educational Eligibility - A candidate pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Maths with minimum 50 % aggregate marks from a regonised board.

Age Eligibility - 16 Years to 21 Years.

Physical Eligibility - A candidate should be physically and mentally fit.

1. Eye Sight = 6/6,
2. Height = 167 cms,
3. Weight: 50 Kg
4. Chest: 77 cm (Normal) / 82 cm (Expanding)

Procedure to Join Air Force -
1. Written test,
2. Physical tests,
3. Medical tests,
4. Group tests and

to join in air force i will suggest you to complete your graduation. you should take admission in BE or B.Tech.


in air force four level of student can join
1.Intermediate (10+2)
2.Graduate
3.Post Graduate
4.Engineers

there are post for these educational qualification. but you have not done 10+2 so you will not be eligible for intermediate. now you have to do graduate in engineering.


even you will not be eligible for NDA examination also. so you should first complete your graduation.

Nice to see that you are interested to apply for Indian Air force and definitely it is a possibility for you to Join Indian Air force just after completing Intermediate examination. If you have completed your Intermediate examination with Maths and Physics as a compulsory subjects, then you are eligible to apply for the UPSC NDA Examination.

NDA stands for National Defence Academy examination and conducted 2 times in a year. Eligible candidates may fill the application form online from the official website of UPSC.

This year Both NDA Examination was already completed and Next year NDA(I) Examination is going to be published soon in the month of December.

Only unmarried male candidates between the age of 16.5 to 19 years are eligible to apply for NDA Examination. Your age not more than 19 years at the time of commencement of Training.

The detailed age eligibility is properly mentioned in the official Notification, please check the notification before apply for the examination.

The selection is based on written test, the test is objective with negative marking and you have to cracked two papers, If you cracked the written test then you are eligible to appear for SSB interview.

You must be Medically and Physically fit in all the respect to apply for NDA, At the time of filling online application form, you have to give 1 preference to the Air force.
