hi....i completed my b.com n i got 67%...n i m plannig to do ca but i was totally confused about cpt exam...i heared that there is no necessary 2 give cpt after graduation..Is it finally aprroved by both icai n government of india? n does i directly eligible to start my articleship without passing I group of ipcc?
pls let me know as soon as possible.....

Dear Friend

As you are a commerce graduate and you have core more than 50% in your B.Com.
so you are not required to pass CPT to be eligible for IPCC.

The provision is made and approved by IPCC itself so don't worry in this regard.

Of course you are eligible for IPCC Exam directly because your percentage of B.com is greater than 50 so there is no need to give CAT exam.

There is a facility given for commerce students , now they can directly apply for the IPCC exam without appearing for CPT.
But for that you have to score at least 55% in graduation .
As you gave scored 67% in B.Com ,so you are eligible to skip the CPT exam .
You can directly apply for IPCC exam .

the name in my admit card is missing a word, its instead of being AVILASHA SINGH its written as A ILASHA SINGH for my cpt exam in dec 2011.I contacted the kolkata icai bhawan they said to contact noida icai and inform them about the matter. what to do now. . . . . . .

Yes u can now appear for IPCC directly without appearing for CPT since u have cleared ur B.Com. U can start ur articleship after clearing group 1 of ur IPCC.
