my question is , my height is 153 cm . Am I eligible for IPS exam?/
Please help

For IPS branch of Civil Service Exam, Minimum height requirements are:

For males : 165 cm [160 cm for Pahari males and ST]
For females : 150 cm [145 cm for Pahari females and ST]

Hi,

Height requirement for IPS eligibility is as follows:

*For males : 165 cm [160 cm for Pahari males and ST]
*For females : 150 cm [145 cm for Pahari females and ST]

So if you are a male candidate, then you are not eligible.

However, if you are a female candidate, then you are eligible and can apply, provided you fulfill the other eligibility criteria as well. I have attached the detailed eligibility criteria for your reference.

further the weight required is proportionate to height so underweight person

You are very lean.

Weight should be proportional to your height.

You have to gain weight in order to become proportional according to your height.

Please eat healthy food rich in nutrition and gain weight.

Refer to the height and weight chart in the attachment give below.

So now you are not eligible.

So gain wait and then you can be eligible.

You are not eligible for Indian Police Services with this height.

Also, you are not eligible for IRTS, DANI PS, CISF, RPF &

other Police organisation.

But, you can apply for administrative services, foreign services and

other allied services. So you are eligible to apply for civil services

examination but you can't apply for IPS.

If your height is 153 cm, then sorry to say that you are not eligible for IPS.

The Weight is not that particular in the selection of IPS

but there are some rules for

Height

and

Chest

Height of the candidate must be 165 cm for general and 160cm for SC/ST

Chest sizes are also predefined

sorry to say that you are not eligible for this post, because the minimum requirements of the height for a candidate(MALE) is 165cm (5 cm relaxation for SC\ST) and for female it is 150 cm.

for appear in this exam you must have to complete your graduation in any stream from a recognized college.
the age limit for this exam is 21-30,.there are 5 & 3 years of age relaxations for SC\ST & OBC candidates respectively.

You are eligible to be an IPS officer ,not police but INDIAN POSTAL SERVICE which is a central service of government of India
You are eligible to be an IAS officer with the height you mentioned. You have chances to become an IRS,IFS and Indian Railway central service.

For your information , here are few physical fitness details of an IPS officer.

Eye sight - 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.
Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye.
The correction is by lenses only.
High standard for the Colour-blind test.
No inherent night blindness.
Vision should stereoscopic.

Height: 165cm

Chest girth fully expanded: 84cm (Expansion: 5cm)

Eye Vision:

High Grade Colour Vision.

Binocular Vision.

Refractive Error Permitted-

Total Amount of Hypermetropia(including cylinder) shall not exceed plus 4.00D

Spectacles allowed but no mention of lasik. Therefore, lasik is not allowed.

We can serve the nation in so many ways other than IPS. IAS is more powerful than IPS .So you can opt for other services.

* The Acronym "IPS" stands for Indian Police Service. Its Exam is conducted every year by UPSC.

The Eligibility Criteria for IPS examination are mentioned below :
