I want to become a Police and serve my Nation. I would like to apply for Indian Police Service. But my height is only 160 cms. I am B.Tech graduate. I want to know still I am eligible for IPS or not?

IPS stands for Indian Police officer.

The minimum requirement for becoming IPS officer:

Physical Requirement ;;
Height – Male 165 cm (general ) for ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm
Female 150 cm (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm
Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.
Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye.

So, if you are ST related candidate then, you can eligible for IPS.

And other eligibilities..
You need to have completed your graduation that is bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university. Final year candidates are also eligible to apply for the exam.

The age limit is from 21 years to 30 years .
Relaxation of 3 years to obc and 5 years to sc/st

you must be an Indian citizen.

IPS examination pattern:

The civil services examination is conducted in three phases;

Civil services aptitude test.

Main examination:

Personal Interview.

If you fulfill below given criteria then you are eligible for IPS 2015 exam.

Physical fitness criteria for IPS exam:-

Eye Sight

For Worse Eye :6/12 or 6/9 distant vision
For good Eye :6/6 or 6/9 distant vision

Height

For Men : 165 cm(AROUND)
For Women :150 cm(AROUND)

OBC /SC/ST :

Male:160 cm and female :145 cm

Chest

Male candidates-84 (+ 5cm).

Female candidates-79cm(+ 5cm).

If you have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university then you are eligible for IPS exam.

Your age should be in between 21 years to 30 years for general candidates. Age relaxation is given below -

5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates
3 years relaxation for OBC Candidates
10 years relaxation for PHC candidates
5 years relaxation for Ex-serviceman

I am Ramesh My height is 164.666 . So I am eligible for AP police (si) are not?

2. A candidate should have a degree from recognized universities from India.
3. Minimum age - 21 years
Maximum age - 32 years
4. Physical criteria:-
Men height - 165 cm
Women height - 150 cm
Minimum chest girth:-
Men - 84 cm
Women - 79 cm
