Re: Which is the best available branch in engineering?
HI friend,
There are many branches of engineering which have got their own standards. There are also some upcoming branches like petrochemical engineering, ceramic engineering, marine engineering, safety and maintenance engineering.you need to choose the branch depending upon your areas of interest and your abilities.as you have asked,of all the branches available at present ECE is a very good stream where you can excel yourself.you have a choice to go into the software or electronics side. But you need to work hard in this stream.Next to ECE comes EEE ,this branch has got good number of opportunities in the government sector apart from the private jobs. There are also other branches like mechanical, civil,CSE,chemical ,but the demand for these branches is not as high as ECE and EEE. WITH REGARDS, GOUTHAM. |

Re: Which is the best available branch in engineering?
To be honest with you there is no clear answer of your question. If you are computer geek then Computer Science Engineering is the best option. If you have interest in cars then Automobile Engineering is good option. Similarly those who are interested in space research would prefer Aerospace Engineering.
Therefore it depends on your interests. However from purely the prospective of getting job I would say Electronics and Communications Engineering is the best option. Candidates from ECE can get job in government and the private sector. In the private sector they may get job in some of the strongest and fastest growing sectors of the country. Let's take a look at all the options. IES The first option for Electronics and Communication Engineers is Indian Engineering Service (IES) exam. The exam is conducted for jobs in various goverment departments. Candidates from very few branches of Engineering are eligible for IES. Electronics and Communication Engineering is one of the branches. Eligibility 1. A B.Tech degree from a recognized university. 2. Your age should be 21 to 30 years. 3. There is up to five years relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per government rules. PSU Public Sector Undertaking is another option in the government sector. Almost all the Public Sector Undertakings in India hire Electronics and Communication Engineers. However recruitment is done of the basis of entrance exams. Each PSU conducts a entrance exam to recruit candidates. You will find more information about these exams through the notification which is published in the leading employment dailies in the coutry. Eligibility 1. Minimum of B.Tech degree from a recognized university. 2. At least 60 percent marks in B.Tech. 3. There should be no pending backlogs. 4. The age limit is 21 to 30 years. 5. There is relaxation in age for SC/ST/OBC per government rules. List of PSU NALCO BHEL DRDO ISRO BEL HPCL ONGC IOCL GAIL NTPC HAL Information Technology In the private sector you can seek job in the IT sector. Companies like Infosys hire maximum number of Electronics and Communication Engineers then any other company. Some of the companies where you can apply are: Infosys Microsoft Dell Intel IBM Wipro HCL Tech Mahindra TCS Satyam Telecom India has one of the fastest growing telecom sector in the world. We have more mobile subscribers than the entire population of USA and Canada. Despite the recent scam like 2G, telecom sector continues to go strong and therefore you can seek job in this sector.
