Your Aim to become IPS is very good one.
I appreciate it.
as you are now doing your 10+2 you have a long time to be eligible for writing an entrance exam to become IPS officer.

To become IPS officer you have to clear an entrance exam called Civil Service Exam.
This exam is conducted by UPSC. This is the constitutional body which will select top brains for top most positions in India.

The minimum eligibility criterion to write this exam is
->you have to get 21 years of age.
-> you should have a degree certificate from a recognized university, it may be of any university.

So after completing your intermediate you have to do a degree course what ever it may be.. no problem with the discipline you have to complete the degree and after getting the age of 21 you are eligible to apply for Civil Service exam.

You will become IPS only after clearing 3 stage examination pattern.
->CSAT,
->Mains
->Personal Interview.

I think now you are clear with when to apply for this right.
regularly follow the news related to UPSC

Thumbs up Re: Can I appear for IPS Entrance Exam being a candidate going to appear for 10+2?

Hi

IPS

The IPS is known as Indian Police or IPS, is one of the three All India Services of the Government of India.

To get recruited as an IPS officer, you have to go through a procedure as follows :

1. You have to be above 21 years of age at first criteria which you are not. So until you are 21, you cannot sit for this exam

2. You have to have a graduation degree from a recognized university with at least 60% aggregate.

3. This exam is called the CSE Civil Service Examination and its conducted the UPSC Union Public Service Commission every year.

4. This exam has got two parts :

PRELIMINARY
MAINS

5. This basically consist of questions from all fields be in History, General knowledge, and awareness, Maths, or questions from your graduation.

6. Its tough because the no. of seats are very very few, and the no. of candidates applying are very large in number.

7. Once you clear both the exams parts, you would be called for a personal interview and based on how you fare on that, you would be selected for the different ranks.

So its too early for you, thus you cannot apply for that exam as of now. Yeah you can start preparing for it slowly and start gaining knowledge from every field.

All the Best !

Regards

Dear,
doing your 10+2 you have a long time to be eligible for writing an entrance exam to become IPS officer.
Preliminary Examination: it is a qualifying examination and is objective type.
. Main Examination: it is a conventional written examination.
. Interview
Interview

The candidates who clear the mains are selected for the interview. They are interviewed by a board of competent people to judge the suitability of the candidate for the post.
After the interview there is a medical test. It is quite rigid for IPS.

Dear Friend,

The examination for the IPS officer is conducted by the UPSC in the form of Civil Service Examination.
The minimum educational qualification required to apply for the Civil Service Examination is Graduation.
As you are not Graduate and only appearing in 10+2 you are not eligible to apply for the Civil Service Examination.

So I therefore suggest you to first complete your 10+2 and then take admission in Graduation.After completing Graduation apply for the Civil Service Examination.

Best Wishes....
