It is not necessary to be a sports person to become an IPS Officer. But aspirants applying for IPS must be medically fit and must satisfy certain physical standards. Height, Weight, visual standards, etc as mentioned by UPSC are required. Graduation is the basic educational qualification required. You must be in the age group of 21-30 years.
