Can I apply for IPS entrance exam after pursuing B.Com 1st year


i am persuing B.com 1st year. i am interested to be an IPS officer. can i apply for the exam on behalf of persuing B.com. plz guid me

Graduation is the basic qualification insisted for IPS. You can apply for the post after completing B.Com. Exam preparations for clearing prelims and mains exam can be started now onwards. No specific mark percentage in graduation is required for study. You must have completed 21 years in order to apply.

IPS Stands for Indian Police Services.

It is conducted by Union Public Service Commission through Civil Services in the every year.Civil Service recruit IPS officer .

Minimum educational qualification required for IPS Exam is Bachelor degree .There is not require any kind of percentage marks in graduation degree .

Yes , Pursuing of B.Com degree you can apply in IPS Exam .But you are in now 1st year student so you are not applicable for IPS Exam.

The Candidate age should be in between 21 years to 30 years . Age Relaxation for OBC candidate is 3 years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years.

Attempt Limit:-

General Candidate can maximum 4 Times
OBC Candidate can Maximum 7 Times
SC/ST there is no attempt Limit

IPS exam is consist of 3 process - Preliminary Exam . Mains Exam and Personal Interview .

Physical eligibility criteria for IPS exam is given below -

Height-

Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm

Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm

Chest-

Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm ; Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.

Eye sight-

6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.

Blood pressure (High) - Age 23 – 123, age 24 – 124, age 25 –122, age 28 – 124, age 30 –125, age 32 – 126, age 34 – 127.

Ear-Good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment should not be more than 30 decibels.

Nasal-candidate should not stammer while speaking.

IPS-Indian Administrative Service.

IPS exam conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) once in a year.

Eligibility criteria:-

The candidate should have to complete graduation in any stream from a recognised university.

Final year graduation candidates are also eligible.

You must be an Indian origin.

Final year students are also eligible to write this examination.


Age criteria:-

The candidates age limits are 21 years to 30 years,

3 years age relaxation for OBC category candidates,

5 years age relaxation for SC/ST category candidates,

10 years age relaxation for PWD candidates.


Selection steps in detail:-

Civil Services Preliminary Examination,

Civil Services Mains Examination,

Personal Interview.



Number of attempts:-

Four times for General category,

Seven times for OBC category,

No limit for SC/ST category candidates.
