Sir i got less percentage in 12th i.e 48% as i suffered from serious illness during examination.now i m just 18 and doing bsc in mathematics.can you tell if i could apply for nda or any other related post?hope to get reply soon

Managing human and material resources, the Ground Duty Branch is the mechanism that steers the Indian Air Force. There are numerous opportunities for both men and women to build a challenging career.

You can join as an officer in any of the following Ground Duty Branches:

Administration Branch
Accounts Branch
Logistics Branch

Administration Branch
Permanent/Short Service Commission
As an officer in the Administration Department, you will be responsible for the efficient management of both human and material resources. Some of the officers of the Administration Branch are selected to carry out the following duties also:

Air Traffic Controller
As Air Traffic Controller, your core responsibilities will involve maintaining an orderly flow of traffic and airspace management.

Fighter Controller
As Fighter Controller, you will be posted to an Air Defence radar unit and will be responsible for close contact and supervision between the air and radar for effective airspace management.

To join the Administration Branches, you must fulfil the following criteria:
Age
20 to 23 years* for Graduates, 20 to 25 years* for Post Graduates / LLB ( Five year integrated course) and 20 to 26 Years for Law Graduates (3 Years Course after Graduation).

Marital Status
Candidates below the age of 25 years must be Unmarried.

Nationality
Indian

Gender
This is applicable to both men and women.

Educational Qualifications

Graduation degree in any discipline with a minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together

OR

a Post Graduation degree / equivalant diploma in any discipline with a minimum 50% marks in aggregate in all papers put together .

As an officer in the Accounts Branch, you are responsible for efficient management of funds as well as disbursement of pay and allowances to Air Force personnel. You will also act as internal auditor to ensure a zero-defect audit from outside agencies.

You must fulfil the following criteria to be a part of the Accounts Branch:

Age
20 to 23 years* for Graduates , 20 to 25 years* for Post Graduates and 20 to 27 years for CA / ICWA..

Marital Status
Candidates below the age of 25 years must be Unmarried.

Nationality
Indian

Gender
This is applicable to both men and women.

Educational Qualifications

Graduate Degree in commerce (B Com) with a minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together

OR

Post Graduate Degree in commerce ( M Com) / CA / ICWA with a minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together

Logistics
Permanent/Short Service Commission
As an officer in the logistics department, you will undertake material management of all Air Force resources. From clothing to aircraft equipment, you will ensure efficient supervision of inventories, and availability of necessary items to all operators and users.

To join our material management team, you must fulfil the following criteria:

Age
20 to 23 years* for Graduates, 20 to 25 years* for Post Graduates / LLB ( Five year integrated course) and 20 to 26 Years for Law Graduates (3 Years Course after Graduation).

Marital Status
Candidates below the age of 25 years must be Unmarried.

Dear Friend

There is no percentage bar to be eligible for NDA examination.
For Air force and Navy wing of NDA you should have done 12th with
Mathematics and Physics but for Military wing 12th in any stream is eligible.

As you mentioned that you are 18 only so you can surely apply for NDA exam.
The eligible age limit is 16.5 to 19 years.

The next NDA examination is to be conducted on 15th April, 2012.
The notification for the exam will be published on 31st December, 2011.

no you cant minimum marks for nda is 50% general 45% obc/sc/st if you are in sc/ st/obc category then you can apply

Yes,you can apply for NDA exam.So prepare well for this coming NDA-I exam.
NDA-I exam notification will be releasing on 31st Dec 2011 and close on 30th Jan 2012.
And will be held on 15th April 2012.

National Defense Academy (NDA) exam is conducted by upsc twice in a year to intake qualified Candidate for different department in Defense service like Indian Airforce, Indian Navy,Indian Army etc.

Eligibility criteria for NDA-I/NDA-II exam:
Education qualification: Minimum candidate should complete 12th class with PCM stream.

The main eligibility for the NDA exam is:
The age should be 16.5 years to 19years.

The male unmarried candidates are allowed.

Candidate should have 10+2 his qualification and 60% marks in 10th standard.

NDA exam notification details for this year:
NDA-I exam notification released on 31s Dec
2011 ,closed on 30th Jan 2012 and exam will
held on 15th April 2012.
NDA-II exam notification releases on 5th May
2012,closes on 4th June 2012 and exam will held on 19th August 2012.

Sorry, you cannot apply for NDA after scoring 48% marks in 12th class examination as it requires a minimum of 50% aggregate marks to be applicable.
