I am in 10 std & i want to go for iim so can i opt for it if i am in science stream.

that mean you need to be at-least graduate in any field is eligible to sit in CAT exam which a common test for admission. and based upon your rank in CAT your admission will be given ...

So if you take science or not but you need to be graduate after 12th class and should get good rank in CAT...

yes definately you can make it upto IIM with choosing Science stream because

you should be graduate in any field no matter in arts,science or commerce
and must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks.

In IIM's 70% of the students are from science background(mainly engineering).

If you have
1. very good career record.
2. Scored 99+ percentile in CAT.
3. Have good communication skills.

Then you will have a very good chance to clear through IIM's.

YOU WANT TO TAKE ADMISSION IN IIM COLLEGES FIRST OF FALL YOU HAVE TO QUALIFY CAT EXAM AND REQUIRED ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA.

If short-listed for interview, candidates appearing for the final bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification examination must show an original certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar/ Director of the university/institution certifying that the candidate has obtained 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of the candidates belonging to SC, ST, and DA category) based on latest available grades/marks.

He / she must submit a photocopy of the original certificate at the time of interview.

For the PGP of IIMs, such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate latest by June 30, 2011 from the Principal/Registrar of their college/institute (issued on or before June 30, 2011) stating that they have completed all the requirements (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.

Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit original mark sheet and degree certificate of having passed the bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by Principal/Registrar of their college/institute. They must obtain at least 50% marks or equivalent. They also must submit a photocopy of the mark sheets and degree certificate. The deadline for submission of the mark sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2011.

Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission. IIMs would not allow any candidate to join their programme in case the candidate is unable to complete all the requirements for a bachelor degree on or before June 30, 2011. The IIMs would also not offer admission to any candidate after June 30, 2011.

For IIM'S at first you will have to clear up CAT exam at least 90% or above.

Educational qualification for CAT EXAM:-
Graduation with 50% from a recognised university.

So,you can opt science.

TO GET ADMISSION TO IIM YOU HAVE TO APPEARED FOR CAT EXAM :

CAT is Common Admission Test is the entrance test conducted for admission in
various postgraduate programs in various reputed colleges and institutes of
India. .

ELIGIBILITY FOR CAT EXAM:

45% to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled

CAT 2010 – 2011 Exam Pattern :

This is a computerized test

The test is of 2 hrs duration.
Each correct answer will be awarded 1 or 2 marks & for each wrong answer,
1/3rd mark will be deducted.

The questions are on
Verbal ability,
Data interpretation & reasoning
Quantitative ability.

For getting into the IIM's, you need to appear for the CAT exam.The minimum eligibility criteria for CAT is:

A candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of SC/ST or Persons with Disability (PWD)].

So it implies, you can do graduation from any stream, but must attain the above prescribed percentage.

So you being a science stream student can apply for admission to IIMs by giving the CAT exam in the final year or after the completion of graduation.

To Get Into IIM's, You Need Bachelor Or Equivalent Degree In Any Discipline From The Recognised Colleges OR University.

So, After Completing Graduation From Science Stream, You Are Eligible to Get Admission In IIM's.

But To Get Into IIM You Have To Appear For CAT Examination And After Scored Good Marks Or percentile In CAT Exam, You Will Get Admission In IIM's.

CAT Exam Eligiblity -

You Must Hold A Bachelor’s Degree, With At Least 50% Marks Or Equivalent.

And If You Are Appearing For The Final Year Of Bachelor’s Degree OR Equivalent Qualification And Are Awaiting For Results Can Also Apply For CAT Examination To Get Into IIM's.

YES, YOU CAN... YOU NEED TO DO MBA AFTER GRADUATION AND THEN OPT FOR IIM....

what is the monthly income of a person who has passed IIM and is intelligent,has good communication skills and is proper in every way?plz answer.i am waiting.

I'm an undergraduate of computer science field, so do i have any post gaduation courses involving computer science courses in any IIM?

IIM's are the most reputated and prestigious institutes for MBA in India.
To get admissions here , then you have to be a minimum graduate in any stream from a recognized university or college.
Also you should have scored a minimum 50% in your graduation.

So just after you have done 12th even if in science stream, you CANNOT get into the IIM's.

You would have to complete your graduation and then appear for one of the toughest exams in India - CAT (Common Admission Test)

Once you crack that and get a good rank, then only you would be able to get into the IIM's.
