Re: Can I give SET exam after getting 55 in Improvement exam?
If you can improve your marks to 55 percent then surely you can appear for the State Eligibility Test. The exam is conducted on the same line as the National Eligibility Test by University Grants Commission.
There is no different in criteria between State Eligibility Test and the National Eligibility Test. The only difference is that SET is conducted by states while NET is the national level entrance exam. You can apply for the SET but please remember that it is only valid in the state where you appeared for it. For example if you appeared for Gujarat SET, then you are only eligible for lectureship or JRF in Gujarat. SET Eligibility 1. Only candidates with Indian citizenship can apply. 2. You must have post graduation degree. 3. 55 percent marks in the degree. 4. SC/ST will require 50 percent marks. 5. Final year candidates may also apply. 6. But you must be able to submit post graduation degree in 2 years. 7. Subject will be English for you. 8. Your age should be below 28 years for JRF. 9. OBC can apply up to 31 years. 10. SC/ST can apply up to 33 years. 11. The lower age for lectureship is 19 years. 12. No upper age limit. |
