I my name is Pradeep S Mole,studying in final year BE electrical,i want to join the merchant navy after completing my degree as a electrical engineer.
i dont know swimming so can i join merchant navy or not??

Yes, you can join in Merchant Navy exam even you are not able to swimming.

Eligibility criteria for Merchant Navy exam-

Those candidates who have passed your 12th or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from central/state board or recognized school are eligible for Merchant navy exam.

Your age should be below 20 years.

Physical criteria:-

• Eye Sight = 6/6
• Height = 167 cms
• Weight = 50 Kg
• Chest = 77 cm (Normal) / 82 cm (Expanding)

Yes,you can join Merchant Navy even after you don't know swimming because swimming is not necessary to join Merchant Navy on the condition you fulfill under mentioned eligibility criteria .

Eligibility criteria for joining Merchant Navy are as follows:-

- The candidate should have passed Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering or a Degree of B.Sc in Nautical Science degree in order to join in the navigation or marine engineering branch of Merchant Navy .

- The candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% in Graduation degree without any backlogs.

-The candidate should have passed 10+2 class or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized board.

- The candidate age should be less than 25 years to apply for Merchant Navy.

-Only unmarried male and female candidate can apply for Merchant Navy.

-Physical requirement :

* Height - 167 cm

* Weight - 50 kg

* Chest - 77 cm (without expansion) and 82 cm ( with expansion)

The selection procedure involves of;

*Written Exam.

*Physical Test

* Medical Test

*Personality Interview.
