Can I pursue IAS or IES after the completion of Engineering in IT?
Hello! I' currently in third year engineering in IT. I want to know whether After Engineering in IT,I can Persue IAS or probably the alternate IES?

Eligibility for IAS -
1.Bachelor's degree from any recognized university . 2.Age limitation = 21 to 30 years . 3.number of permissible attempts =4 times eligibility for IES exa- 1.candidate should have Engineering degree from any recognized university . 2.Age limit = 21 to 30 years . 3.Final year students of BE/B.tech are also can apply . 4.Candidate should be a citizen of India . Branches eligible for IES exam - 1.Electrical 2.Mechanical 3.Electronics 4.Civil So as a Engineering student of IT you are eligible for the IAS exam not for IES . Thank you |

Hello friend,
After completion of your bachelors degree in engineering, you will be eligible for both Indian Administrative Service and Engineering Service Exam. For Indian Administrative Service, the examination conducted is known as civil service exam. The minimum eligible age is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years for both civil service exam and engineering service exam. The engineering service exam is conducted in four disciplines only: Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering |

offcourse friends you are eligible for IAS exam after the completion of engineering in IT.
its minimum criteria is- You have to be a graduate first of all from any recognised university and the age limit is 21-30 years as on august 1st 2011. thanks |

21-30 years as on 1.7.2011. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in Para 3(ii) of Notice). of course , you are eligle for IAS exam but you nut for IES exam.
for IAS exam you must have to complete your graduation in any stream. but for IES exam you must have B.TECH \B.E. degree in Civil Engineering, Mecahnical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering are eligible to apply for IES Examination. so you are not You are Not eligible for IES Examination because you have completed your course in Engineering in IT. |

see, after doing Engineering in IT, you can join as a IAS officer. but you will not be eligiable for the IES exam. for IES exam, only four discipline branch of engineering are allowed. >>MECHANICAL. >>ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION. >>CIVIL. >>ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING. etc. but in case of IAS exam, every degree holders are eligiable for the UPSC, Civil sevice exam. so you can sit for the IAS exam. all the best........ |

You can apply for both IES & IAS after Engineering graduate .... the eligibility criteria for IES are. *The candidates should be a engineer with it , electrical , mechanical etc. *The age limit is 22 - 320yrs. There is relaxation for sc / st & obc candidates. The eligibility of IAS exam. *the candidates should be a graduate from any discipline , from a recognize university. *The age limit is 22 - 30 yrs there is relaxation for sc/st & obc candidates. this exam is conducted through upsc for more details you can visit website . http://www.upsc.gov.in here is the exam pattern of IAS exam. good luck....... |

union public service commission conducts the exam for IAS for which the eligibility criteria is; qualification for IAS - a candidate should be graduate from any recognized university -a candidate as an appearing can also apply for the exam qualification for IES - a candidate should be engineering graduate from any recognized university in the following stream -Electrical Engineering -Electronics & Communications Engineering -Civil Engineering -Mechanical Engineering -or equivalent degree from recognized universities. -M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject is also acceptable for certain posts -a candidate as an appearing can also apply for the exam age limit -a candidate's age should be between 21-30 for general -for OBC upper age limit is 33 years -for SC/ST candidate upper age limit is 35 years number of attempts -for general-4 attempts -for OBC- 7 attempts -for SC/ST- no limits for further details you can visit the link www.upsc.gov.in you can also see the attachment for further details; |

I just wanted to know that can I appear for civil service examination after pursuing B.Arch? If yes which subject should I choose from the optional subject for the mains exam? Am I eligible to select mathematics without doing B.Sc in mathematics? And also how many optional subjects should I select for main exam? Please reply ASAP.
