There is no separate IPS Exam for the candidates to be placed in IPS. But instead, there is a common written exam known as civil services exam by crakcing which the candidates can be placed in various civil services like
-IAS
-IPS
-IRS etc.

The complete selection procedure for this is by
-CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test)
-Civil Services Main Examination
-Interview

Here is the minimum eligibility criteria that a candidate need to possess to be placed in these civils services.

Academic Qualification :
-One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.
-Candidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation are also eligible to appear for this exam but they should be able to show the proof of passing in Graduation when they appear for Interview.

Age criteria :
-One should possess an age between 21-30 years to be eligible for this exam.
-Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category.
-Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC/ST category and upto 10 years for the candidates with physical disabilities.

So, you are eligible to appear for CSAT Exam as you are in the final year of your B.Tech course.

Have good preparation to this Exam and crack it.

Dear aspirant,
Yes you can apply for IPS(Indian Police Service) if you are in B.tech final year on a provisional basis because there is a provision that final year students can appy for Civil Service Exam(IAS,IPS,IFS etc.) conducted by UPSC every year but for thish one should be 21 years of age.
I hope it will help you.
Best of Luck.
