Details about Civil Services Exam? What is the syllabus for the exam?
Sir i had done my graduation from recognized university and i would like to prepare for civil's please let me know the details about the civils and syllabus for the examination

You are qualified academically for Civil Services. The age limit for the exam is, 21-30 years for GEN category candidates 21-33 years for OBC category candidates 21-35 years for SC/ST/PD candidates. Brief Information about the exam The Civil Services Examination is conducted every year by UPSC/ The scheme of the examination is as under; The whole examination is conducted in two stages. 1. Preliminary Examination This is the first stage of CSE. This is also called Civil Services Aptitude Test and is common test for all applicants. This contains questions from General studies(History, Geography, Politics, Economics and social development, General Science) English Mathematical Aptitude etc. 2. Main Exam and Interview Prelims qualified candidates are called for Main exam and on the basis of marks in Main exam, candidates are called for Interview. The total marks of Main exam and Interview are sum up to produce final result. The Main examination will contain following papers 1. Essay type Indian Language Qualifying Paper (300 marks) 2. English Qualifying Paper (300 marks) 3. General Essay type paper (200 marks) 4. General Studies (Paper-I & II 300 marks each) 5. Optional subject-I(Paper-I & II 300 marks each) 6. Optional subject-II(Paper-I&II 300 marks each) The subject for optional paper are as under. You can choose any two of them. The choice is completely yours. Agriculture Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science Anthropology Botany Chemistry Civil Engineering Commerce and Accountancy Economics Electrical Engineering Geography Geology History Law Management Mathematics Mechanical Engineering Medical Science Philosophy Physics Political Science and International Relations Psychology Public Administration Sociology Statistics Zoology But following combinations of two optional subjects are not permissible - Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration; - Commerce & Accountancy and Management; - Anthropology and Sociology; - Mathematics and Statistics; - Agriculture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science. - Management and Public Administration; - Any two engineering subjects - Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science. You should obtain the syllabus of these subjects from http://www.upsc.gov.in/ In coming future there could be many changes in the examination pattern. I am doing my b-tech 1st year now and i have a strong desire to become an IAS officer but sir i want to know the exact year when i can attempt the exam.the following are the details of mine ,i was born on 19 sep 1994. so according to my date of birth can u say in which exactly can i attempt the civil services exam vansh reddy |
