Information Regarding NDA Examination.

National Defence Academy (NDA) examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in every year for the admission in the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Air Force wing of the NDA. If you are interested in the defence field and want to appear in the NDA examination then you need the following eligibility criteria.

Educational Qualification = Pass 12th class with any stream from a recognize board but for the Indian Navy and Air Force wing of NDA you need pass 12th class with science stream. The 12th board exam appearing student are also eligible to apply for the NDA examination.

Age Limit = The age must be between 16 1/2 to 19 year at the time of appearing of this examination.

As per your question if you completed your 12th class with commerce stream then you are eligible only for the Army wing of the NDA examination. This is the basic eligibility criteria for the NDA examination. According to UPSC website the notification for the NDA & NA-1 2012 examination will be come on 31th December 2011 and the examination will be held on the 15th April 2012. Selection Criteria for NDA:

The selection process for NDA contain 3-stages->

Exam Pattern& syllabus for NDA written test:

There will be written Examination for total of 900 marks in two Subjects

1. Mathematics - Maximum marks is 300 and the duration of the test is 2.5 Hrs.
2. General Ability Test - Maximum marks is 600 and the duration of the test is 2.5 Hrs.

The papers in both the subjects will consist of objective type questions only.

Yes, commerce stream are applicable for NDA exam but only in Indian Army post.

Yes After 12th standard you are eligible for NDA exam .But you have to fulfill the below criteria.

Educational Qualification:

(i) For Army wing of National Defence Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course at the Naval Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.

Age:

Age should be between 16.5 to 19 years

PHYSICAL STANDARD FOR NDA EXAM

NDA- NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II for entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wings of NDA.

Being a candidate of 10+2 Commerce you can apply for NDA provided you are an unmarried Indian male within the age group of 16.5 to 19 years having either appear for 10+2 final exam or passed. Certain physical fitness is required for NDA.

The selection is through three phases:-

Written examination of all objective type questions
Physical Test
Medical Test

The application can be made through on line only by paying Rs.50.00 towards the cost of application.

The process for NDA-I has already been started, the last date of application is 30.01.2012 followed by examination on 15.04.2012.
