Hello friend,
The examination for recruitment of candidates in the Indian Police is conducted by union public service commission every year. As per the union public service commission's guidelines, one must be graduate, in any discipline, to be eligible for the exam. The minimum eligible age is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years. The maximum age limit, is however, relaxed for candidates belonging to OBC category and SC/ST category. The examination is usually known as civil service exam and comprise of two written exams and an interview. One must qualify all the stages to be considered for the Indian Police Service. IPS stands for Indian Police Service.
This examination is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service commission) every year and the examination is called Civil Services Aptitude Test. The Civil Services Aptitude Test is divided into 2 parts, ** Preliminary Examination ** Main Examination The Eligibility Criteria for IPS: The candidate must have to complete graduation in any stream from a recognized university. To become a IPS officer,you should appear for Civil Service exam and should have good rank.
Civil Service exam is conducted by union Public Service Commission every year once to take qualified students into different service post in government sector. To appear for Civil Service exam,you should have complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university and your age should be between 21 to 30 years. To be a IPS officer you have to appear in the civil service entrance exam conducted by the UPSC every year in the month of July. Eligibility: Educational Qualification: you should be passed the Graduation in any bachelor degree with minimum 65% marks from any recognized university or its equivalent. Age limit: age must be between the 21 to 30 years. 5 years age relaxation for the Sc/ST and 3 years age relaxation for OBC students.. Nationality: Indian citizen. Physical requirements: Height for the Men: 158 cms. for the women: 152 cms. Selection process: 1.Written test Priliminary Mains 2.Interview 1.Written test syllabus: Logical reasoning Current affairs Arithmetic ability decision making skill etc... 2. IPS exam stands for indian police service. This exam is conducted by upsc. ELIGIBLITY FOR IPS EXAM; You must be at least 21 years of age at the time of filling the Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam form and not more than 30 years of age (various relaxations are available for different categories). You must possess a graduate degree in any discipline of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. Candidates who are in the final semester or have taken their final degree exam but are awaiting the results can also appear for the IAS and IPS Preliminary examination provided they furnish their proof of degree while filling the Mains form. |

To become an IPS officer one has to apply for Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year.
After successfully cracking the Civil Service exam which is held in three phases i.e. Preliminary exam-CSAT-Civil Service Aptitude Test, Civil Service Main exam and Personal Interview, one can be recruited to Indian Police Service as an Officer. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. IPS(Indian Police Service) exams are conducted by UPSC every year. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Educational Qualifications for IPS : Bachelors degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs. Number of Attempts: Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.
