Re: Eligibility criteria for getting admission in IIT?
andidates belonging to General (GE), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and DS categories must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate in their Qualifying Examination. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Disabled (PD) categories must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate in the Qualifying Examination. The percentage of marks awarded by the Board will be treated as final. If the Board does not award the percentage of marks, it will be calculated based on the marks obtained in all subjects listed in the mark sheet. If any Board awards only letter grades without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the equivalent marks, and submit it at the time of counselling. In case such a certificate is not provided by the candidate, then the decision of the Joint Implementation Committee of JEE-2011 regarding his/her eligibility shall be final.

Re: Eligibility criteria for getting admission in IIT?
The eligibility criteria for IITJEE can be presented in short in the following points:-
1)The age of candidate should not exceed 25 years. 2)The candidate should secure atleast 60% in QE(Qualifying examination-equivalent to class 12) if he is a general/OBC candidate and 55% if you are a SC/ST/PD candidate. 3)The candidate can appear only twice in his/her entire lifetime 4)To appear in IITJEE 2012, a candidate must have either passed QE for the first time in, on or after october 2010 or should be appearing for the first time in 2012. That means you can either give IITJEE on the yer of appearing for QE or just the next year after it. best of luck!!! |

Re: Eligibility criteria for getting admission in IIT?
To study in one of the IIT's you have to sit for the IIT JEE exam.
You should have minimum 60% of marks in aggregate to sit for this exam. You can give the exam two times in two back to back years. It is a tough time to crack no doubt so preparation should be taken much in an advance. Good luck |

Re: Eligibility criteria for getting admission in IIT?
If you want to appear for IIT-JEE exam, you will have to secure at least 60% or above, then only you will be able to appear in IIT-JEE exam.
Eligibility Criteria of IIT-JEE exam is mentioned in the following site: http://jee.iitm.ac.in/eligibility.php However, from next year IIT-JEE and AIEEE will be merged into one Single Entrance Exam which may be known as ISEET. It will have two phases: Mains and Advanced. You will get IIT only when you qualify IIT-Advanced and to be eligible for IIT-Advanced, you will have to be in top 20 percentile of your board. For more information, you can visit:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_...ce_examination |
