Right now,I'm doing electrical engineering(4th year).Please tell me the to become IAS officer-like whwt exam i have to appear(csat or anything else)??and what is syllabus???and when and how to apply for it???

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service


If you are Aspiring to Becom an IAS officer then you should have to apply for Civil Service Examination which is conducted by UPSC twice in year for the post of an IPS Officer, IAS Officer etc......

If you have competed graduation degree in any Discipline from Recognized Universities yhen you are eligible for it............

Final years student also eligible for it...


General Age Limit is 21-30 years. but there is relaxation is available for reserved category....

For OBC category : up to 33 years...

For SC/ST category : up to 35 years...

The acronym for IAS is Indian Administrative Services.

The Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) conducts civil services examination every year for IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS posts.

The eligibility criteria required for the IAS examination are prescribed as below:-

* Completion of graduation in any track from any accredited college or university.

* Final year contenders are also eligible.

* Age limit:- 21-30 yrs for General.
21-33 yrs for OBC.
21-35 yrs for SC/ST.
21-40 yrs for PWD contenders.

* No. of attempts:- 4 for General, 7 for OBC and no attempts for SC/ST contenders.

* Nationality:- Indian.

If you want to become IAS officer,

First you can crack the Civil Examination

Civil Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission in yearly ones

For this Civil Examination some eligibility criteria are there i.e. educational qualification, age limit, nationality, physical standards etc,,,,,,,,

If you satisfy above all eligibility criteria then you are eligible for this examination

HI!

For I.A.S you have to qualify the Civil Services exam.

Civil Services Exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

After passing B.Tech you can apply for Civil Services exam.


Age should be in between 21-30 year.
For ST/SC candidate age should be in between 21-33 year.

There are three stage of Selection:-
> Prelims Exam
> Mains Exam
> Interview

You can apply online or offline.
The Form cost is just 20 Rs.

Information Regarding IAS Examination.

Nice to see your interest in the Civil Services examination. IAS entrance examination is come under Civil Services examination. The civil services examination is conducted by the UPSC in every year. If you are interested in the IAS field then to appear in the IAS examination you need the following eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria for the Civil Services examination.
--> Pass graduation is any stream from a recognize University. Final semester b.tech candidates can also apply for the IAS entrance examination.
--> The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of examination. The upper age relaxation is also applicable for the reservation category candidates.

NOTE :-- There are no percentage criteria to appear in IAS examination. Only pass the graduation degree is enough to appear in the IAS entrance examination.

These are the basic eligibility criteria for the IAS examination. If you satisfy the above mention eligibility criteria then you are eligible to apply for the IAS entrance examination. You have to appear in the UPSC Civil Services Exams.



This exam is held to fill posts in 24 government departments like:

Indian Administrative Service.
Indian Foreign Service.
Indian Police Service.
Indian P & T Accounts & Finance Service, Group ‘A’.
Indian Audit and Accounts Service, Group ‘A’.
Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise), Group ‘A’.
Indian Defence Accounts Service, Group ‘A’.
Indian Revenue Service (I.T.), Group ‘A’.


Minimum eligibilty to apply for the UPSC Civil Services exams is:

Education: Graduation pass in any stream from a recognized university
No minimum percentage of marks is required in Graduation

Age- Minimum 21 years
Maximum 30 years
OBC can apply till 33 years
SC/ST can apply till 35 years

Attempts/Chances: UPSC has also fixed number of attempts

IAS - Indian Administrative Service, to become an IAS officer one has to crack Civil Service Exam, conducted every year by UPSC.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

As you are pursing Electrical Engineering, after completion of B.tech., you will be eligible for IAS, Civil Service Exam.

You have asked that how can you become IAS officer after completing you bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

Friend,first of all I will appreciate you for selecting the aim to join the Indian Administrative Services.

In order to become an IAS officer you will have to crack the the entrance examination that is conducted for this services and it is called Civil services examinations and is organised by the Union Public Service commission.

You have to clear all the three stages of the Civil services examinations which are as below:

>>Civil services Aptitude test.

>>Main examination

>>Personal interview.

Some of the eligibility criteria for this exam is :

>>Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university is the minimum qualification required.You need not worry about this because you have bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

>>the age limit is 21-30 years for the General candidates.There is three years age relaxation to obc and five years to sc/st respectively.

>>You must be an Indian citizen.

>>For general candidates there are only four attempts ,OBC enjoys seven attempts and SC/ST has no limit on no of attempts for civil services till age limit.

The important dates for the Civil services exam for the year 2013 are already over ,you need to wait for the next year.Till then keep preparing for the exam with full concentration and determination as this is not an easy one to crack.

You can also take coaching from Rau's IAS,Chanakya's IAS etc.

Practice the previous year papers as much as possible.
