Re: How to be an IPS officer after passing B.Tech electrical engineering
Well in order to become IPS officer you will have to prepare for the exam at least 6-8 months in advance. Since you are currently studying B.Tech, I would say that start preparing upon reaching the final year.
First we should take a look at the criteria to apply for IPS. Eligibility 1. You must be of Indian origin. 2. A graduation degree in any discipline. 3. There is no minimum percentage requirement. 4. The age limit is 21 to 30 years. 5. Upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC. 6. Five years relaxation is given to SC/ST candidate. Physical Requirements Height: Male: 165 cm (General) and 160 cm (ST) Female: 150 cm (General) and 145 cm (ST) Eye Sight: 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye Chest: Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm Exam Pattern 1. Preliminary Exam 2. Main Exam 3. Interview As you know that there is a requirement to select two optional subjects for main exam on which 4 papers will be conducted. Similarly there will be one paper on optional subject in the preliminary exam. What a lot of people do is that since preliminary is just a qualifying exam, they select subject like History, Geography for the optional subject. Some do similar thing in the main exam as well. Although generally it is recommended to select subject that are related to your course. |
