To become an IAS officer,you need to appear for the IAS exam under civil services exam which is conducted by UPSC every year.To be eligible for the IAS exam you must have to complete the graduation degree from a recognized university. >>Eligibility Criteria :- **Age Limit :- -->The age Limit to apply for the IAS exam is 21 to 30 years. -->There is an age relaxation of 3 years for OBC candidates and the age relaxation for SC/ST candidates is of 5 years. **Nationality :- -->You must be a citizen of India. **Educational Qualification :- -->You must have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognised university to be eligible to appear for the IAS exam. -->Final year students can also apply for the IAS exam. -->There isno specific percentage required to appear for the IAS exam. **Selection Procedure :- -->Preliminary Exam -->Mains Exam -->Personal Interview **No of Attempts :- -->General-4 -->OBC-7 -->SC/ST-No Limit All The Best |

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service. This exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year. Eligibility criteria:- The applicant should be complete bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university. Final year graduation candidates are also eligible. Candidate should be an Indian citizen. Percentage is not a matter to apply this exam. Age criteria:- The age limits are 21 years to 30 years, 3 years age relaxation for OBC candidates, 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST candidates., 10 years age relaxation for SC/ST candidates. Selection process:- Preliminary examination, Mains examination, Personal interview. Preliminary exam syllabus:- Arts and Social sciences, Intelligence test, Current affairs, Science and technology, Commerce and economics, Agriculture. Syllabus for Mains exam:- General studies-I: History, Geography of India, Indian polity, Human Resource development, Human rights. General studies-II: India and world(India's position in global happenings ), India economy, planning, trade, and rural development, Development of natural resources, Development of sciences and technology, Statistics, analysis and graphs and diagrams. IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services The basic qualification to appear for the examinations of this services you must be graduate in any stream The UPSC Union Public Service Commission conduct the examinations for this service followed by an interview. As you are the student of 2nd year of your degree course you should complete your degree course then you can apply for IAS. the age limit for this service is 21 to 30 there will be relaxation for the reserved categories. IAS means Indian Administrative Services and is basically meant for those aspiring candidates who have strong dedication towards the country. India holds a UPSC examination every year and on the basis of this examination a number of IAS officers are recruitment. Eligibility Criteria :- A.)Educational Qualification:- The minimum qualification required for appearing the competitive examination is Graduation. Many professionals like Engineers, Doctors, persons with Ph.d qualifications are competing for UPSC. B.)Age Factor:- 1.> For general category :- 21-30 years and can attempt 4 times. 2.>For SC/ST :- 21-35 years ,and there is no limitation . 3.> For the OBC:- 21-33 years and can attempt 7 times. Paper Pattern for IAS exam :- 1) General-Studies paper carries 150 marks 2) Optional paper carries 150 marks. Instead of one compulsory paper of General Studies and one Optional paper, both the papers shall be compulsory. |

You are doing engineering you did not mention your year/semester/stream. As far as IAS(Indian Administrative Services)entrance exam. is concerned you should know this is the most honourable/responsible administrative job.UPSC conduct's this examination every year. IAS Eligibility:- 1.Any graduate or a final year candidate from the recognized University/Institution can write UPSC conducted IAS entrance examination. 2.AGE:General: 21-32 years, OBC:21-35,S/C S/T: 21-37 years. 3.Nationality: Indian 4.Attempts: General: 6 chances, OBC: 8 chances, S/C S/T: Unlimited. After completing the graduation you can appear in the IAS (Civil Services) examination. IAS entrance examination is come under civil services examination which is conducted by the UPSC once in every year. Here i give you the details eligibility criteria : Eligibility Criteria for Civil Services Examination : --> pass graduation degree in any discipline from a recognize University. Final year candidates can also apply for the Civil Services examination. --> The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of examination. The upper age relaxation is also applicable for the reservation category candidates. These are the basic eligibility criteria for the Civil Services examination. If you satisfy the above mention eligibility criteria then you are eligible for the Civil services. So, i advise you to first complete your graduation degree with good marks and then think about the ahead career or Civil Services examination. According to your question you are an Engineering student so that no problem you will be eligible for IAS entrance examination whenever you complete your graduate degree from a recognized University/Institution.
