Re: How can I become an IAS officer? How many years does it take?
I.A.S stands for Indian Administrative Service and the examination is conducted by the UPSC every year for this. There is no separate examination and the examination is conducted for all the Civil officers post. The examination is conducted as Civil Services examination.
The eligibility for the examination are candidates must have passed graduation from a recognised university in any discipline. Candidates age must lie between 21-32 years for general category candidates and relaxation for other category. The examination is conducted in three stages as:- * Preliminary. * Mains. * Interview. It is necessary to qualify in each of them for the final selection. The examination is considered as toughest examination. There are also limitations on number of attempts. The application for 2015 Preliminary is on and the examination is on 23rd August 2015. So you can start your preparation as it requires hard work to get success in the examination.
