first join for Degree in which subject really you are interesting,that too which can be very useful in Civils also,,,,,,,, like Political science,,which is very helpful in dealing with Prelims and interview too like Mains

to become IAS you have to appear for UPSC exam and you should have at least 21 years and graduation

For becoming an IAS officer you should have a graduate degree in any stream

first complete your graduation in the field you wish to then only you can apply for the test. meanwhile as there is a lot of years for you just start reading newspaper, journals, etc for part 1 paper. emphasize on day to day news and try to read more books.

After higher secondary, candidates who wish to become IAS officer are required to obtain graduation in any discipline from a UGC recognized university. Bachelor degree is the minimum qualification required to apply for the civil service exam. There is no minimum percentage required to be eligible to this exam. Final year candidates are also eligible to apply for this exam.
