CID (Central Investigation Department) examinations is conducted by the SSC (Staff Selection Commission). CID posts are:- 1. Sub-Inspector, 2. Assistant Public Prosecutor and 3. Senior Public Prosecutor (SPP). Eligibility for CID examinations: - 1. For Sub Inspector = Pass graduation in any subject from a regonised institute / university. a. Age = 18 Years to 25 Years b. Height = minimum 5’ 6″ c. Chest = 32′ (Normal) and after expanding 34' 2. For Assistant Public Prosecutor = Pass LL.B.(Law) from a regonised institute / university with minimum 5 years of experience. a. Age = 18 Years to 25 Years b. Height = minimum 5’ 6″ c. Chest = 32′ (Normal) and after expanding 34' 3. For Senior Public Prosecutor = Pass graduation in LAW from a regonised institute / university with minimum 10 years of experience. a. Age = 18 Years to 25 Years b. Height = minimum 5’ 6″ c. Chest = 32′ (Normal) and after expanding 34' Procedure to join CID - ( 5 Stages ) 1. Written test, 2. Physical tests, 3. Medical tests, 4. Crime Branch CID (Criminal Investigation Department) is a specialised wing in many state police forces in India of their Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Other branches of the CID are
To join in CID you need to write the EXAM conducted by UPSC...!!and for that you need to be at least graduate and only 12th class will not work......you have to do graduation... for that you need to have good physical strength also like any armed force.. |

Qualifying exam
Candidates who wish to join the Crime Investigation Department must appear in the Indian Civil Services examination that is held by the Union Public Service Commission. eligibility: to join as a constable in the CID is a pass in class 12. Graduation is the requirement for officer level post as well. You can appear for the exam when you are in your final year |

For becoming a CID officer you will need to appear for the UPSC which means (UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISION) exam. There are various levels in which you can join the department. The minimum requirement is that the candidate should complete at least 12th standard. so you can write that exam. But if you are interested in joining a higher level then you need to be a graduate. I advise you to join at the officer level. But for that you require minimum of graduation. Graduation or post graduation in criminology is the preferred course. You can appear for the exam when you are in your final year. Normally candidates start preparing well in advance i.e. at least one year in advance.

hello dear
definately commerce students join CID but not before doing graduation. commerce students join CID after graduation. to join in CID as an officer, you have to appear an qualify UPSC exam. through UPSC exam, you can join in CID. the criteria to attain in the UPSC exam is minimum graduation in qualification with 55% marks. age limit 21-29 years. all the best............. |

CID:Criminal Investigation Department >> You are passing 12th commerce ,after this you are join in the CID office ,in your qualification you are apply for the post of constable in the CID.The age criteria is 20 years and the maximum age limit is 27 years with relaxation of upto 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC. >> Physical requirements you need height minimum --165 cm AND and chest -- 76 cms. >> CID i.e Criminal Investigation Department and this is the crime detection agency under the Government of India. >> If you want constable post in the CID ,you must appear in the Indian Civil Services examination this is conducted by the UPSC examination. >> Here is the information about exam is divide in to 2 papers follow mention: >> paper 1st (general test) duration 2 hr. CID (Criminal Investigation Department) this exam is conducted by the UPSC(UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION). Eligibility criteria: The candidate should complete graduation from any recognised university. Candidate should be a citizen of india. Age limits is 21 years to 29years. For more details visit www.upsc.gov.in So, After 12th you are not eligible but no need to worry first complete your graduation then after apply this exam. All the best. |

To join in CID you need to write the EXAM conducted by UPSC...!!and for that you need to be at least graduate and only 12th class will not work......you have to do graduation... for that you need to have good physical strength also like any armed force.. |

CID stands for Criminal Investiagation Department.
The CID exam is conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) once in a year. Eligibility criteria: Nationality: the candidate should be citizen of india. Education qualification: the candidate must completed graduation from any recognized university to become CID officer. The constable of CID the candidate need 12th standard. Age limit: your age should be in between 21 to 28 years. The relaxation available for sc/st and obc candidates. Gender: both male and female candidates are eligible to become an CID officer. Physical standards: the candidate should be medically and physically fit. Height- 165cms Chest- unexpanded- 77cms expanded- 82cms there is no eligibility to become CID officer with 12th standard.
