Educational Qualification
for Army : 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
For Air Force, Navy and Naval Academy : 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University with Physics and Mathematics subjects
* Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in notice.

To become a merchant navy officer, one needs to be atleast 10+2 after which he/she needs to undergo pre-sea training..

For 10+2 students there are the following courses available.

1. 3 year degree course in Nautical Science (Institutions : TS Chanakya (Through IIT-JEE, Southern Academy of Maritime Studies (Chennai), Vels Academy of Maritime Education & Training (Chennai), Vels Academy of Maritime Education & Training (Chennai))

2. 4 year degree course in Marine Engineering (Institutions : MERI (Through IIT-JEE), Tolani Maritime Institute (Mumbai), Southern Academy of Maritime Studies (Chennai), Vels Academy of Maritime Education & Training (Chennai))

3. 3 month course for Deck Cadets.

Educational qualification: The minimum eligibility for courses in Nautical science and Marine engineering is 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics.

He should also pass a medical fitness test for sea service under standard norms and with eyesight 6/6 with no colour blindness

I suppose your speaking about Navy rather than Merchant Navy,

To enter into Navy you have to write the NDA exam conducted by the UPSC board or you can even enter through the CDS stream after your graduation course.

You can even enter as short term service officer which has only 14 years of service.lease keep checking the newspapers such as HINDU or the Employeement News which provides you the notification and full details.

Its not matter to u r a girl or u r a boy ...
limitation is same to clear NDA exam after 12th then clear the ssb test under ssb check fitness and medical test .........

generally 60 % marks are set as standard for any exam you want to give but being on the safe side you must score at least 65% marks in 12th to be eligible for navy

to get get admission in navy you should have completed 10+2 with Math & physics as a subjects. if you have completed 10+2 with physics and maths as subjects. then you can apply for NDA exam conducted by UPSC to become a naval officer. other wise you can apply for navy artificer apprentices exam if you have 60% marks in aggregate in 10th with science and Maths as subjects or 55% marks in aggregate in 10+2 with science & maths as subjects.

you can apply for NDA two times in a year in December and may -june

eligibility for TES :

this is direct entry to SSB for navy .you dont need to give any exam

age ::
should be between 161/2 to 191/2

education::
pass 10+2 with 70 % in PCM .

for it you have to apply for TES form .

you can apply for it in a month of may -june after result gets declare

I GOT 60% IN PCM IN CLASS 12 . CAN I GET ADMISSION IN NAVY OR MERCHANT NAVY .I BELONG TO OBC CATEGORY.

Dear Friend,

Minimum qualification to appear for Navy in Officer cadre is ten plus 2 and graduation. Thereafter you can enter through NDA exam conducted by UPSC.

If you want to join as sailor exam will be conducted by Navy.
