Sunil your marks is good but to get addmission in merchant navy you have to give an entrance exam named as imu cet.last date of submission the form is 10 june 2011. You can download the form from the web site www.imu.tn.nic.in

Sir recently i have passed 12th exam from UP BOARD with PCM stream.I got 69% & in PCM i got 65% i want to join merchant navy for becoming a CAPTAIN.SO PLZ. tell me How can i take the admission??? & WHAT SHOULD I DO ???

Eligibility for Merchant Navy:-

1.The minimum eligibility for courses in Nautical science and Marine engineering is 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics.

2.Candidate must have secure 60% aggregate.

3.He should also pass a medical fitness test for sea service under standard norms and with eyesight 6/6 with no colour blindness.

These are the eligibility criteria you have to fulfill.
As you have secured 75% marks in 12th then you will be eligible for Merchant navy.

Eligibility norm for the Merchant Navy:-

1)Candidate should have Indian nationality.

2)Their age must be between 18-42 yrs on 25.02.11

3)should have Graduate from any recognize university.

4)The employed person who is working in central govt. /own business/private sector/semi govt. must have Pay and allowances and privileges.


For Merchant Navy the Selection Procedure:-

1. Preliminary Interview Boards held at respective TA Group Headquarters .

2. SSB Interview

3. Medical & Police Verification.

In Merchant Navy mainly tasks performed in 3 ways:

1)Marine Engineering.

2)Deck Cadet.

3)Nautical Science.

Eligibility Criteria For Merchant Navy:

You should have the subjects maths,physics and chemistry in 12 standard.

If You have to completed marine engineering You can join in merchant navy.

If you have completed mechanical engineering you can join in merchant navy.

You should have a minimum of 55% in graduation.

Age Limit:

The Age should not be more than 25 years.

You have to write entrance exam to join in this course.If you are selected in the exam then you will get seat in the particular institute.
