How can i prepare for GATE exam ? Now im in 3rd yr ECE.

you brush up all your basic knowledge of all the subject you have read so far. you can also buy book of GK Publication and prepare through it. GATE is not very tough exam it just check your basic knowledge about your subject.so , get ready for it. best of luck

the preparation for the gate exam.you study hard and don't study last minute
and keep on practice the mock tests and you can strong your basics.And prepare the last year papers.

to prepare for GATE first you should go through the syllabus of GATE. then try to find out which portion you have already covered till third year.

next prepare for that portion of the syllabus which you have already completed. most of the syllabus of GATE is from till third year. so you have to study almost whole the syllabus. then study your text book first.

next go through the previous years question papers to make an idea about the question standard. then buy some good book and practice them. GATE by G K Publishers is very much popular book. you may buy it.

there is 15 marks aptitude in GATE examination. you must be prepare for that from a good book. because if you are able to secure 10 or 12 marks from this then it will be very much easy to clear the cut off for you. so give attention on it.

you have started it in correct time....compare the syllabus of ur b.e and gate study the subjects in the gate point of view...do more problems...collect previous yr question papers...all the best

And When you have Complete your whole Syllabus, then take your Self Based Test to check, How Much Knowledge you will get to Crack the GATE Entrance exams.

You can start your study with the simple steps...

1.Material Collection

* Syllabus
* All the relevant books based on the subject(Divide the books in two groups - (1) Fundamental and basic concepts (2) Problem oriented
* Some books helpful for pre-requisite knowledge on the subject
* Some good guide books for GATE
* Previous questions papers

2.Keep contact with some expert and GATE experienced persons

3.Study - Syllabus and Previous questions papers

4.Start from the first chapter

* read at least 5 books, it will widen your knowledge(if necessary consult with the books for pre-requisite knowledge or with some expert)
* Note down the probable concepts(definitions, unit, dimension etc.)
* Note down necessary theories, formulae etc
* Solve problems as maximum as possible(from text books, Guide books etc)
* Think about various tricks in solving problems(if necessary, note it)
* Go for series of self tests based on this chapter(take other's help to conduct tests)
* Continue the self tests until getting a very good score

5.Solve more and more problems, discover more and more new tricks…

6.Follow the same procedure for the rest chapters

7.Finally, go for self tests based on whole syllabus(take other's help to conduct these tests)

8.and last but not the least work hard till end.......no one can stop you after that

Hi. . . . Right now u r in 3rd sem ,still i very happy about your future thinking about GATE examination. . .well u first of all need to be strong in your basics not only of engg but also from 10th to till now. . .

Dont take too much tension now only since,we knew our engg syllabus its huge . . . learn the subjects whatever you have right now ,not because they were included in syllabus but to gain knowledge,you read all subjects for perfection,to make yourself strong,reading should become your passion . . . It will surely lead you to success in your GATE exam. . .

I don't believe if you read for 23 hours in day it will lead to success , But i strongly believe that CONCENTRATED READING OF FOUR TO FIVE HOURS STUDY is more than sufficient. .

to prepare for Gate u first have to clear ur mind in which field u want mtech... it is not necessory tht u do ony mtech in tht in which u did ur be/ btech

thn fr preparation maths is same fr all and for tht HK Dass is more thn enough,
and other subjects will depend in whch trade u want to do mtech , the syllabus is covered in colages itself in 4 years we hav to recaptulate the subjects frm 1st year
if u want to take coaching thn made easy in delhi is best in ncr.... and u can also subscribe for notes to various good institutes

You just go through the whole theory papers first.Then note down the important parts of your text into your own copies.you should make your own copies for each subject.In GATE exam throughly study is more and more necessary than taking any types of coaching.you may clear some conception from your coaching classes, but you have to give your own effort and labour.There is negetive marking in the test.so be careful and clear your overall conception from your teachers.

As i know if you are going to prepare for the GATE exam then you have to study four subjects according to syllabus.and try to solve the previous year papers and mock test papers as much as possible.

If you are in third year you are in right edge. now you have the time to go for coaching centers which will guide you with fast tips and all . my best suggestion is to take caoching from ACE institute, Hyderabad.

next note down the gate syllabus and find out which subjects you are most interested in. please concentrate on those areas first this bring you maximum confidence in you.

gate includes general aptitude section for this fundamental formulae are enough go through RS AGARWAAL.

Go through previous exam papers from publications like gate forum ,vgs publications. they fetch you some answers to previous papers also. maintain planning conduct sample tests for yourself so that you can estimate your capability and can increase it.

go through the gudelines section of vgs publications they will bring you some idea of preparation.

many people say to take coaching for gate exam,
if it is an regular and daily coaching then it is OK but if it is an short term course then its an waste of time ,
you are in third year so you have two chances left before passing the colleges,try this time to just have the essence of the exam,
remember that more than 50% of the questions asked in gate exam are from third year so really concentrate in third year on your studies,
don't straight away use gate preparation guides,start by learning the basics from the standard books ,the ones which you follow for engineering,for problems you can purchase the gk publishers gate book,its problems are really good,also solve as many previous years papers as possible and give as many mock exams as possible,

one should study regular as5 to 6 hrs, one should study syllabus thoroughly and try to make basic clear,after thorough study revise complete syllabus and try to concentrate the important question asked in exam and try to solve previous paper and practice paper to understand what kind of question asked in exam.

You start preparing from now if you reallu want to do it..A book of "A.HUNDA" will solve your problem..Purchase it from market and start preparation..

First of all ,you should know syllabus and make it revised two or three times more.After that solve previous year question and try to find out your fault and make it check.You could study read any book for gate all are best but important thing is that you have to study it very hard.

For the GATE preparation, you should first check the syllabus for your stream. Then go through the standard books for the given topics and solve the questions on that topic. Then at the end of the subjects, you should solve the Chapter wise questions asked in previous years papers. The book is by " Made easy publications". Its a awesome book and has helped me a lot.

and i must admire your preparation and dedication, because you are in right level
or right time to think about your higher studies, usually people thinks after their
graduation, but it is not the good time to think or to prepare.

some suggestions or tips you can say.

• start preparing with your detailed scheduled
• if you are not able to prepare your self then take coaching form a reputed institution.
• Analyzing your test results is a very important part of taking the test. If
  you do not analyze, the test does not add value. You should minutely analyze
  and define as to where you could have scored more; analyze your accuracy
  rates in various topics and maintain a topic wise datasheet which lists your
  performance topic wise for different test papers..

To prepare for start your preparation from the begining if stii not start from today.Go through the syllabus and find out which portion is your strong and which are weak.And start your prepation without diverting your mind.

You should concentrate on your branch papers.There is also some questions from aptitude and reasoning part.So also prepare for the same.

GATE exam is very easy if you are thorough in your engineering subjects. You just need to know all the basics of your core subjects to solve the GATE questions.

Refer all your GATE previous years question papers.

Practice Maths subject and aptitude parts well which can help in boosting your marks.

Go through all the subjects mentioned in the syllabus, and know the basics strong in each topic.

Listen to your engineering classes and make the note of keen points that your lecturer tells you, this may help in GATE.

This will sure fetch you good marks.

You must go for last year exam papers and solve them continuously.
Follow GATE ece books and quantitative aptitude book.

in gate exam the questions generally test the basic knowledge of the candidate in the subject,
you have to be really good at the basics,
also have practice by writing as many sample papers as you can,
dont try to attempt the questions which you are not sure about

Its never too late to start your preparation for GATE.Since your from 3rd year ECE you need to concentrate on subjects like

Electronic Devices and Circuits,Pulse devices and Circuits,Linear Integrated Circuits,Digital Integrated Circuits,Control Systems,Electrical Technology,network Analysis

The above mentioned subjects are your core subjects but you even need to concentrate on subjects like Mathematical Methods and other such subjects.
Prefer books of Tata-Mcgraw Hill,Pearson Educations.Refer books of Millman,Boylestead which are standard.By following these books you can get all the concepts of your subjects.

Even go through the old question papers asked in GATE so that you can get clear information about the type of questions being asked on GATE.Its always better that you start from the basics.

hi. there are lotof colleges who takes students for MTECH widout gate score. you can apply for them but they are not beneficial as such .so its better to try for GATE
