for joining ips you have to clear upsc exam conducted every year.
The exam is conducted in two stages-
a)priliminery exam consisting of general knowledge and aptitude test objective test
b) mains exam having optional subjects descriptive test

after that a candidate have to appear for interview and physical test

About IAS Examination -

IAS Stands for Indian Police Service and The examination was conducted by UPSC and If your Goal is to become IPS Officer then you have to apply for the UPSC Civil services examination, And the examination was held Every year.

And to apply for this examination, candidates Must Have Pursuing the Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised University.

And Your age should between 21 to 30 Years, The Upper age Relaxation is applicable for SC, ST and OBC Candidates.

About Selection Procedure -

The selection of IPS Officer are based on Written examination, Personal Interview and Physical Test.

>> The examination are conducted into 2 Stages, preliminary examination and Main Examination.

>> Firstly Candidates Must have to Cracked the Preliminary examination and After clear Preliminary examination, Candidates are eligible to apply for Main examination, Preliminary examination are of Two Papers, Both are Objective Type with same Marks and Duration.

>> And In Main examination, Candidates have to choose the Optional Subjects on the Basis of Graduate Subjects, After clear all these Test, You are eligible for Interview & Physical test and then finally you will become a IPS Officer Through UPSC Civil Services Examination.

For IPS exam Selection Procedure :-

The examination consist of Preliminary Examination,Main Examination as well as Interview.

Preliminary Examination Consists of



After clearing the Preliminary Examination the candidate called for Main Examination.

Main Examination :- Nine papers

Paper -1 One of the Indian Language 300 Marks.
Paper -2 English 300 Marks.
Paper -3 Essay 200 Marks.
Paper -4 & 5 General Studies 600 marks.
Paper -6,7,8,9 Any two Subjects to be selected from the prescribed Optional Subjects 1200 Marks.

After clearing the Main examination the candidate called for Interview.

Interview Test : 300 Marks.

for IPS exam, you have to clear the exam conducted by UPSC every year.
it is conducted in two levels.
1. priliminary, with only aptitude and multiple choice questions
2. Main is of descriptive type for selective subjects.

then after that you have to go for interview and physical test.

IPS Selection Process :

IPS exam is one of the Civil Service Exam , it is conducted by UPSC once a year
Civil Service Exam comprise three stages
Preliminary Examination
Main Examination
Interview
The Preliminary exam would be conducted in the month of May & The Main exam would be conducted in the month of October / November
The preliminary exam consists two objective type question papers
one comprising questions from the General Studies & marks 150 , other paper comprising questions from the Optional Subjects , selected by the candidates & this accounts to 300marks
Once qualify in the Preliminary exam , then candidates will be facing the Main Examination
The Main Exam comprises 5 types of papers
Paper I & II are language papers
Paper III is an essay paper accounting too 200 marks
Paper IV & V are based on General Studies , Constituting 600 marks
Papers VI , VII , VIII & IX are based on the optional subjects adding to 1200 marks
Qualify in the Main exam to eligible Interview process

IPS(Indian Police Service) exams are conducted by UPSC every year.

DETAILS OF UPSC IPS EXAM:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Educational Qualifications for IPS :
Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs.

Number of Attempts:
Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

•Apply offline by purchasing the application form from designated post offices throughout the country.

There is no separate Entrance Exam for the candidates like IPS exam in order to be placed in IPS.

But there is a single Entrance Exam called civil services Exam which will let the candidates to be placed in various civil services like
IAS
IPS
IFS etc.

To be placed, you should crack the selection procedure which will be
CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test)
Civil Services Main Exam
Interview

As per eligibility criteria,

One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.

You did not mention your highest level of academic qualification. If you did complete Graduation, then you can start preparation towards civil services exam.

As per required age,
Candidates of General category should have an age 21-30 years.
With regard to upper age limit, OBC candidates can get relaxation upto 3 years and SC or ST candidates upto 5 years.

Make sure that you possess above mentioned age as per your category.

This Exam will be organized by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).

You can decide upon the optional subject well in advance and start preparation for the exam.
