hi,
Yes, you can join the Indian Army after 12th with commerce stream.
For this you have to qualify the N.D.A exam

N.D.A exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.
After qualifying this exam you can start you career in defence sector like:-
>> Indian Army
>> Indian Air force
>> Indian Navy

Eligibility criteria:-
> Pass 12th with any subject from recognized university
> Age limit:-16.5-19 year
> Medically fit

There are 3 steps of selection:-
-Written exam.
-Interview
-medical exam.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR N.D.A. & N.A. EXAM.(I), 2012

Date of Notification:-31.12.2011
Last date of receipt of form:-30.01.2012(MONDAY)
Date of exam:-15.04.2012(SUNDAY)

Hello friend,
You will be eligible to join Indian Army after completion of your +2.
Once you qualify +2 level, you will be eligible to write NDA exam conducted by union public service commission. This examination is conducted twice a year.
The minimum eligible age to write the exam is 16 1/2 years and the maximum age limit is 19 years.
When you will be selected for the National Defense Academy, you will undergo a bachelors degree program and other physical training at the academy.
After completion of the degree program and other necessary training at the National Defense Academy, you will be recruited in the Indian Army as an officer.

Hi

YEAH SURE You can join Indian Army being a Commerce Student. I would give you the procedure. You have to apply for the NDA Exam. National Defense Academy. This is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year in April and August.

Eligibility needs have to be met for this exam which state that only unmarried male candidates are allowed. Also your age within 16.5 to 19 years in the year of applying.
Minimum 12th pass from a recognized school with good percentage. but no minimum percentage required.
Commerce students can ONLY apply for the ARMY and not for Air Force/Navy. And of course the physical and mental fitness is important.

Now that you are a commerce student so you can only apply for the ARMY. But the NDA 2013 Notification was out in December and the Application dates are over. So you cannot apply if you have not yet applied for this year NDA. Neva mind. You can always apply next year on in the August NDA 2 exam.

But if you wish to join the ARMY WHILE Studying in Class 12th, I am really sorry to say as its not possible. You have to pass Class 12th minimum first and then only can you join any other work or study course like graduation and nothing can be done while you are in your HS.
