HAii,,
After your b tech you can go for some course in nautical science, after that you can aplly for merchant navy. the eligibility says that it should have a degree in marine engg or mechanical engineering. there should not be any color blindness. Two premier institutions which impart training for Merchant Navy: (a) T.S. Chanakya, Mumbai which offers a three-year degree course leading to B.Sc. in Nautical Sciences. (b) The Marine Engineering Research Institute (MERI), Kolkata which offers a four-year degree course leading to B.Tech. in Marine Engineering. thank you!!! |

Hello............If you want to join merchant navy then you can join only through deck side as a deck cadet for which you'll need to give 4 more years of your life before earning money.Your engineering degree won't be of any use because they want only mechanical engineers who undergo GME course and then join as 3rd engineer. There are many opportunities in the world. So think carefully before putting 4 years of your life at stake.

There are opportunities basically for candidates who passed Mechanical engineering in the Merchant navy sector. However candidates can look for post like route planner which requires candidates of technical background. An IT officer is required in this segment. So candidates who completed B.TECH in CS can apply for this post. You can visit the D.G Shipping site for details.
