Re: Minimum qualification required to become an IPS officer?
Quote:
the minimum qualification required to appear in IAS or IPS examination conducted by UPSC is graduation in any discipline from a recognized institution. the student who studied three years after 12th they are eligible for IAS or IPS examination. PUC is the course which is for two years duration after 12th. so i think this is not equivalent to graduation. this is an intermediate course before university. so after PUC you will not be eligible for IAS or IPS. the other eligibility criterion for IAS and IPS is your age should be in between 21 to 30 if you belongs to general category. for reserved candidate there are relaxation in age as per government rules. you must be Indian resident. Maximum Attempts: General Vategory:4 OBC:7 SC/ST:No limit. for more eligibility criterion and other details about IAS and IPS examination visit the website http://www.upsc.gov.inthe notification will be also publish in this website and in leading newspaper. best wishes. |

Re: Minimum qualification required to become an IPS officer?
It is the part of UPSC so Exam is being conducted every year by UPSC which comes under in Civil services exam. There is no separate exam for IPS post. To get eligible you must have passed your graduation degree in any discipline from any university which should be recognized. So B.Tech is a graduation field and after completing or while pursuing Final year you can apply for Civil services exam, But this is not the eligibility criteria. You must clear the exam and then mains. After that you must fulfill the physical standards standardize by Indian Police Service. While applying for Civil services your age must be 21 years minimum and till 30 years of age you can apply for it. Physical standards are like 165 cm for Men as Height and 150 for Women. Chest after fully expanded must be 84 cm for MEN and 79cm for Women. For Myopic eyes which cylinder it should not exceed -4D and same for Hypermetropia i.e +4D. |
