Re: Minimum qualification required for IPS entrance exam?
You are not eligible for the Civil Services Examination as for now. To apply for the Indian Police Service you will have to complete graduation. So I will suggest you to take admission for a graduation degree course in some good college.
You should consider a course in which you see future. I mean you should be able to get job in case you fail to make cut for the Indian Police Service. Do not just pursue any graduation degree. Once you have completed graduation then you can apply for the Indian Police Service by cracking the Civil Services Examination. However let me point out that it would not be easy to crack Civil Services Examination and get selected especially when over 10 Lakh students are applying for them. You will have to study hard and to prepar for the exam give yourself at least 8 to 10 months. I would urge you to start the preparation once you have completed graduation else it could be difficult to study gradution course and prepare Civil Services Examination at the same time. To prepare you must get the NCERT Books for 12th standard. Not only that you should read newspapers and political magazines as well. English is also important since there will be one written test on it. You should prepare for English subject as well. Apart from that select the optional subjects as soon as possible for the Civil Services Examination. But choose the subjects that are related to your course and now just any subjects which may be difficult to study. IPS Eligibility 1. Nationality should be Indian citzen. 2. Bachelor's degree from a recognized college. 3. There is no minimum marks requirement. 4. Your age should be at least 21 years to apply. 5. You should not be older than 30 years. 6. Upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC. 7. While relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST. Selection Procedure 1. The first step is Preliminary Exam which is conducted in May or June. It is only a qualifying exam to appear for next stage. 2. Main Exam is the second stage where you will appear for 9 written tests including 2 each on the 2 optional subjects you have selected. 3. Personal Interview |
