hi.. im asking this out of complete desperation.
i have scored a mere 52.6% in pcm(physics,chemistry,maths) subjects with an overall of 60% in all subjects in 12th.
im currently doing Btech Information technology and want to pursue MBA for my masters.

1.Should I dream the IIM dream?

2.Is it futile to even look for MBA after scoring such low marks in top tier MBA schools?

3.Do i have the overseas option available for MBA studies?Will international institutions scoff at such marks and reject my application outright?

4.what other options, exams can i give to get into other top MBA schools in india or overseas for that matter?

Dill logically im prepared and have atoned(im working hard now) but im worried about my past killing my future. Please counsel....

pleasw dont demoralise yourself
you can still dream of doing MBA from IIM
your 12th standard marks wont create any problem for your MBA
and work hard for getting into IIM

you can do MBA but first you have to clear your graduation with good marks
and you can do your MBA from IIM only if you do good in CAT exam and you have to clear group discussion & personel interview

in newspaper told that for taking admission in IIM 70% is requiredin 12th. is it right?

You need to have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline as eligible for post-graduate studies.

You can apply while you are in your final year of graduation.

So you need not have to worry for that just do the graduation and then go for CAT,MAT or XAT exams

Your low marks in the class 12 will not matter in this,All the best.

Don't be despaired like this. It is not that your every dream has come to an end with the low marks in 12th.

It is ok buddy. With these marks ,still you can go a long way!

You just need to concentrate on your graduation right now. Finish this with good percentile, then think for future career.

now, for admission to MBA, your rank in the CAT/MAT exam will matter primarily.

I think that top management schools require at least 60% marks in 10(+2) for candidates.
So in that case, you are eligible to apply for MBA entrance tests.

Think positive, be positive.

MBA can be done once the graduation is completed. Score well in graduation. But since I don’t know the marks in 12th, I am not sure what graduation course you can apply to. But no need to lose heart. MBA is still a long way, you need to first get a graduation in. Then appear for the CAT/MAT exam.With a good score you can do your MBA in IIM or some other reputed institution.

for doing mba from good institutions only 60% marks is required through out of carrier.so don't worried about your marks.as you have 60% marks over all then you will definately get chance in good mba institution.you must carry 60% marks in your b.tech.

When you are doing B.Tech. then you don't have to worry about your future and the MBA

you can do yoor MBA from any desired indtitute, since there is entrance exam so you have chance..

and now don't worry about MBA just focus on what you are doing right now..all the best..

First remember that IIMs are collection of mastermind students and enough weightage is given to 10th and 12th marks, so keeping this in mind, then only opt for CAT, otherwise there are many private business schools.

yes u can but complete your 12th in any of the correspondence exam i think they will just ask for 10+2 completion nothing else after your graduation u can definetly apply for cat the only thing is you should get good number of percentile in cat

Yes, you can definitely go for the MBA course after completion of your B.tech..
As you wants to get admission in IIM's then you have to appear in CAT exam..
CAT is the entrance exam for doing MBA course. IT is conducted every year by IIM's..
SO, you have to score well percentile in CAT to get admission in IIM's..

The eligibility criteria for CAT exam-

*You must have to complete the graduation in any trade.
*You should have 50%aggregate through out the graduation..

These are the only criteria you have to fulfill.
so, first complete the B.tech with good percentage of marks..

your marks in 12th wont effect you to join in MBA
you should prepare CAT and do well in that to get in to MBA.

you just don't worry becouse you can do MBA in any good collages.. your marks will not creat any problem. but you have to get approx 50% in your graduation.. after that you have to give the entrance exam like CAT/MAT/XAT etc.. than you can get admission in MBA...

After B.Tech you can do M.B.A.
M.B.A stand for Master of Business Administration.

For admissions in top college you have to qualify the exam like
C.A.T,
M.A.T
X.A.T
G.M.A.T
etc

For eligible in exam you have to gt minimum 50% marks in graduation.

You can certainly dream of doing MBA from Indian Institute of Management. Your performance in 12th standard will not play spoil sport. The admission in Indian Institute of Management is given on the basis of your performance in CAT.

CAT is short for the Common Admission Test. It is perhaps the most popular MBA entrance exam in the country. You will have to appear for the Common Admission Test and clear it in order to get admission for IIM.

Eligibility

1. Since you are doing B.Tech, ensure at least 50 percent marks in the course.

2. If belongs to SC/ST then complete B.Tech with minimum of 45 percent marks.

If unable to do so then you won't be able to appear for Common Admission TesT. While there are other entrance exams for MBA, the door for admission in IIM would be closed.

What you should remember is that admission in Indian Institute of Management is not easy. You will have to do remarkably well in Common Admission Test. Even after which I will recommend that you apply for as many IIMs as possible.

While some IIMs may only look into your CAT score for admission, others would give weight to your marks in graduation and 12th standard as well. Even after that there is a admission procedure of IIM which you will have to clear.

Even if you don't manage to take admission for IIMs there are several other good MBA universities in India.

Right now I will recommend that you should not lose hope regarding taking admission in IIM and concentrate on the Bachelor of Technology course. If you are unable to do well in B.Tech and the Common Admission Test then your dream will be shattered.

You still have option to apply for admission in overseas universities as well. However the process would be lengthy and you will have to appear for several test like GRE and TOEFL etc. Only on the basis on your performance in such tests, you will be considered by the foreign university.

Sir I have 56% marks in 10th n 60%marks in 12th...right now doin b.tech n so far have secured 68% in b.tech..dreaming to b in one of da iims..im really in dilemma.please show me the way out....

* First of all, try to be cool, confident, positive, optimistic and self motivated. Each people in this world has their own potential and each excel in their own stream,

* So, you are even eligible to get along with the top notch B schools if you put in your efforts rite here.

* To pursue your MBA in India, you will have to appear for CAT, Common Admission Test that is being conducted by the IIM every year.

* But it is very difficult to clear the examination as it includes, verbal, logical and aptitude.

* The next thing is doing your masters in abroad for which you will have to appear for GMAT examination. This would be even more tougher than the CAT examination.

* So, i would better suggest you to opt for CAT examination by preparing well.
