Actually it is important to pursue a career in a stream in which one is interested. You will be able to reach the heights you desire only then. If you lack interest in the field of engineering then the chances of you losing interest in your job is certain. You are correct that salary that you will receive after completing your course from NIFT is going to be less than IIT. But if you are creative person once you establish your self in the industry which may take some time you could make a good amount of money.

Just concentrate on the course which your interested in.Since your interested in NIFT hence its better that you choose NIFT rather than IIT.Both the Institutes are equally and competitive when compared to each other.
As per career prospectus both are equally good and both have their equal importance when considered globally. The employment opportunities include holding key positions in large fashion and corporate houses, textile industries, fashion show organiser's,trend predicting and forecasting, fashion styling, design and management of fashion brands.. etc. Companies visiting NIFT for campus recruits will be from Retail,Manufacturing,Export houses, buying houses, fashion design house, supply chain farms..etc If you have good creative skills then NIFT will be a better option. The salary is not fixed,it keeps on increasing with your experience. There's nothing of such that your salary will be limited. As your experience increases you can expect a salary of around Rs 10,00,00 or even more than that.As a fresher you can expect around 30,000-50,000 mark. |

First of all better stragety for earning good money in any field is that you have to keep a better knowledge in that field and this is possible only when you are interested in that.
I think that you are interested in fashion field so, please prepare you self for that and take admission in NIFT. |

Both are extraordinary institutes in their fields and both are high paying carrer options , so it depends on you which brand to join.
But remember that both are very competitive and lakhs of students appear for their entrances , so have to be very careful while preparations. Application You have missed the deadline for both the entrances for this year. Application forms for IIT are available in December Application forms for NIFT are available from mid of Nov to first week of Jan. After IIT you will get huge employement opportunities in Engg field with minimum salary of 6L p.a. While after NIFT you can go for : export houses dealing with garments retail and wholesale garment business advertiseing agencies textile industries fashion show organisers/piblishers film production units teaching. etc.depending upon which course you have opt for. |

Hello,
According to my knowledge both NIFT & IIT are better, it is depend upon your interest. If you are interested in NIFT, then you can do it. OR If you are interested in IIT, then you can do it. But IIT is better than NIFT. You can join IIT. After completing both NIFT or IIT, you can get a better job & handsome salary. Good Luck |

NIFT and IIT are almost 2 sides of a coin. Now it is completely about interest for you.If you are really good at fashion stuff or creativity then only opt for this field because this field is relatively new and the job opportunities would be definitely lesser than that in engineering, since it is an emerging field as of now.If you are in need of quick money then it is better to choose engineering to be on the safer side.If you do fashion course and suppose due to some reasons you get less score at the end then you'll be completely trapped.you won't be able to change your field also.whereas in engineering if you don't get campus placed then also you can apply at thousands of places. As far as payment scenario is concerned,if you complete your course as a topper you might be lucky enough to get upto Rs.50,000 per month.
All the best. |

well what you do should be based on your are of interest not what you will get from it .
both the course are equally good . if you think that you can do hard work and you like to develop something then it is the best thing you should do .there is many career opportunity in IIT .the average package in IITies are 6 to 7 lack per annum so there is huge amount in this . |

As you say that you are a very creative person,. so I suggest that you should go for NIFT.
As you know that the NIFT is the premier institute for fashion designing and technology, so it is always better to go for NIFT. Coming to the question of salary, bot IIT and NIFT will provide you a good salary, but the thing is where your heart is. If you are interested in NIFT and also you are preparing for it, then go for NIFT only. Something which you do with your heart, yields more results than something that you do under pressure. Also, Fashion Technology has no boundation on the amount of salary one can earn. Uf you are creative and people like your work, you can draw and exceptionally large amount. However, even though you are be very creative, but people dont like your work, then however good you are you mat not get the good salary. So work hard and do things with full heart, and that is the mantra for success. Good Luck! |

nift in comparison to iit is bullshit.if u r goood in studies then go for iit rather that nift.you can compare wid the fact that in iit enterance exam have a syllabus of 2 including greater skills whereas fo nift enterance u require general ability.i think people are capable enough to understand this all the best
