Procedure to become an IPS officer after completing engineering?
I am third year engineering student. Please tell me procedure to become ips officer.

1)How to Become IPS Officer? *To reach to that level one has to really toil hard for nearly 2 years and pass through a rigorous test involving written tests and interview spreading through out a year which requires self-discipline, patience, punctuality, commitment self-confidence and a burning desire to be at the top ladder of an important organization of the country *To handle things effectively a lot of hard work, stamina, alertness of mind, adaptability to follow difficult time schedules, good team spirit is required as this is not a time bound job General studies 150 and Optional Studies 300 mark Best of luck for the IPS Exam |

Apply for Indian Civil Service after completing your engineering,Civil Service conducted by UPSC.Age limit is 21 to 30 yrs.General category candidates can apply for 3 times,OBC candidates can apply 5 times,and SC & ST have no limit.

After your engineering you can write the civil service exam and then you can become IPS officer.

Fiest of all to u have to complete your graduation (in your case btech).Then u have to appear in civil service examination conducted by UPSC .In civil service examination you have to give your preference of the services you want to join for eg IAS,IFS,IPS,IRS,and so on.After selection according to your merit you will be alloted your choice of service.

If you are doing engineering from mechanical then you have a good opportunity for go to in civil services. But according your question you are the you are the third year engineering student but in IPS the minimum education is graduation from any recognized university. So dear please complete the engineering then you go to in civil cervices. One of most requirement of age is above 21 year and below 35 year at 1 aug year. If any confusing then again contact on me . |

hi...
to become an ips officer you have to write the civil services exam,all the information regarding it are available at www.upsc.gov.in but let me tell you that clearing this exam is not very easy,you have to really work hard for it,also you should pass the medical test to be qualified, it is tough but not impossible so if you try hard you have every chance of clearing it, all the best |

This year the notification for the exam will come on 19th February,2011 and the application will remain open till 21st March, 2011. The application procedure will be available in the notification. The examination is conducted in two stage: Civil Services Preliminary Examination or Civil Services Aptitude Test(CSAT) This a common exam based on General Studies, comprehension skill, verbal and quantitative aptitude and communication skills. Main Examination and Personal interview Those who qualify Preliminary round appear for Main examination. Those who qualify Main examination are called for Interview. The marks of Main examination and Interview are sum up to prepare the final merit list. The Main examination comprise of following papers. to become an IPS officer after completing engineering, you have to appear in the IAS exam. if you can get good result then you can get chance as a IPS officer after completing engineering. IAS exam-2011 registration will be start from 19th feb, 2011. all the best............. |

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC : 1.Age limit 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs . Ex-servicemen will get 5 more years exemption from the prescribed age limit The date of birth accepted by the Commission is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University, which extract must be certified by the proper authority of the University or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate. 2. Educational Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification. 3. Number of Attempts Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt. 4. Restrictions on applying for the examination: A candidate who is appointed to the Indian Administrative Service or the Indian Foreign Service on the results of an earlier examination and continues to be a member of that service will not be eligible to compete at this examination. |

You are eligible for indian police service (ips). Eligibility for ips :- 1)finished your graduation in any stream from any university. 2)age limit is 21 to 30years. 3)you also have some physical requirements like height,weight,chest and so on. 4)the exam is conducted by union public service commission in every year. 5)number of attempts for upsc exam is 4. IPS(Indian Police Service) officer. The IPS exam is conducted by UPSC(union public service commission).
* Candidates should be the citizen of India. * Candidates should complete graduation from recognized university. * You should have age limit within 21 to 30 years. * For OBC category age limit 21 to 33 years * For SC/ST category age limit 21 to 35 years. * Final year candidates are also eligible.
