what is the procedure to join merchant navy,eligybility and with fee structure?and i like to ask one more thing,i cleared my 12th in the year 2009 ,have i eligible to do this and i also scored a 72% in pcm?pls give a response as soon as possible

hello sir i want to do merchant navy and i am secured 53 % marks in 12th with (PCM). sir am i eligible to this?

if i am not medically fit still i can join merchant navy or not?

Think twice before joining speciallly from engineering side..bcoz their is very little growth scope for them.As automation had totally slashed down the manpower required to run the ship.So doing training for merchant navy engineer will be completely wastage of time and money & while in rewards will get life long struggle for jobs.My suggesstion not to join merchant navy but if join then please opt Deck side officer only.

Therefore I will recommend you to pursue education further and obtain a
bachelor degree. Please see below regarding what you should do.



Eligibility

1. 10+2 with PCM as the subjects.

2. At least 50-60 percent marks in 12th board.

3. Candidate should be unmarried at the time of applying.

4. You will have to go through a medical test.


Education

You have two options for good officer level jobs.

1. A 3 year Bachelor course in nautical science.

2. B.Tech in Marine Engineering which is 4 years long course.



Direct Entry

You can apply for deck cadet job after completing 12th (PCM). To do
so you will have to undergo 3 months pre-sea training.


The fee depends on the course and could vary from college to college.
Below are some good colleges. You should contact them for information related to fee.

ELIGIBILITY/AGE LIMIT Admission is open to both unmarried male and female candidates; age should not be more than 20 years (on 1st September of the entry year): those belonging to the SC/ST have this rule relaxed by about 5 yrs.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS Candidates need to show proof of completing 10+2 system or equivalent, having passed Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics as elective subjects. Some of the Qualifying Examinations are as follows: - All India Senior School Certificate Examination of CBSE - Higher Secondary Examination (from any Central/State Board of Secondary Education) - Indian School Certificate Examination of Council of Indian School of Examination, New Delhi - Intermediate Science/Technical or 2-year pre-university examination - Final Examination of 2-year course of Joint Service Wing of the NDA - 1st year examination of a 5-year integrated course from an IIT- or IIT recognised institution/university - 1st year examination of a 3-year degree course of any recognised Indian University

I've got 75% marks in10 2 in 2012 can i join merchant neavy for my bright future.

In Merchant Navy after completion of class 10, you can join after doing the Deck Cadet Course spanning for 3 Months. Such courses are Diploma in Applied Science or Deck Watchkeeper. It provides the Cadet Pre-sea Training as well as onboard training of 24 Months. The Cadets learn to load ships, store cargo, handle gear, stationary rigging, and running gear, and learns ship stability, ship maneuvering and ship management and perform a variety of operations and maintenance tasks to preserve the painted surface of the ship. In an advance stage, a graduate degree in Nautical Science or the Marine Engineering opens avenue in Merchant Navy. Minimum you need to complete class 12th with PCM. There is a age limit of 20 years to both unmarried male as well as female candidates and another five years relaxation is provided to SC/ST. In case of direct entry, candidates should complete class 12 with PCM. For the B.Tech in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Technology, Cadet/ Fifth Engineer/ Junior Engineer posts are open.
