Re: Required Eligibility criteria to apply for UGC NET Exam? How much will be the fee structure for this?
National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted for College lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship by the University Grants Commission. Through this entrance exam, University Grants Commission tries to ensure that the quality of teachers being hired remains good which in turn will ensure good quality education in government colleges.
National Eligibility Test is conducted in June and December. Those who have completed post graduation can apply for this course. Even the final year students are eligible to apply but there are certain requirements which they should meet. I have mentioned them below in the eligibility criteria section. There are almost 100 subjects for the National Eligibility Test. You should pick one of the subjects for which you will apply. The question paper will be related to that subject and you will have to prepare for the course to related subject. You can not choose any subject which you like. It should be related to your post graduation course. For example if you have completed M.Com then Commerce will be the subject. For Engineering graduates, Engineering Science will be the subject. NET Eligibility 1. You should have completed post graduation. 2. Or must be in final year of the course. 3. Should secure 55 percent marks in post graduation. 4. 50 percent required for SC/ST. 5. There is no relaxation for OBC. 6. Final year students will have to submit their degree in 2 years. 7. Subject depends on the PG course. 8. Age limit is 28 years for JRF. 9. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC. 10. While SC/ST can have up to 5 years relaxation. 11. There is no upper age limit if applying for lectureship. Examination Fee 1. General Candidates - Rs.450/- 2. Other Backward Classes - Rs.225/- 3. SC/ST/PWD candidates - Rs.110/- |
