i wanna appear for this exam.

There are no such percentage requirement for M.Tech

Here is the details criteria for GATE examination 2012 :

1.Academic qualification :
The candidate should complete graduation
Final year student can also apply for GATE 2012
There should not be any pending backlogs while appearing for GATE

2.Age limitation :
The age of the candidate must be within 20 to 28 years.
But the candidate can only make 3 attempts.

There is no Specific percentage required for GATE examination and graduation is enough to appear for this examination.

This year GATE examination was already completed So you can't apply for GATE examination.

GATE Stands for Graduate Aptitude Test of Engineering and this examination is conducted by Indian Institute of Science and Seven Indian Institute of Technologies for admission to M.Tech course in the various IIT'S

Eligibility for GATE :-

The candidate who are completed graduate degree in engineering/technology/architecture from a recognized University or equivalent qualification OR The candidate need to completed bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture (Post-B.Sc./Post-Diploma) from a recognized University and there is no percentage bar required for this examination.

Those who are appearing in the final year of degree course may also eligible to apply for this examination but pre-final year of graduate degree are not eligible to apply for GATE examination because this examination is only for pass out candidates and final year candidates not for pre-final year candidates.

Master degree candidate may also eligible to apply for this examination but the master degree in Statistics/Mathematics/Science/Computer Applications or equivalent qualification from a recognized University and final year candidates are eligible to apply !!!

For appearing in GATE exam, there is no minimum marks prescribed in the qualifying examination.

A mere pass will do.

GATE exam is an entrance exam for M.tech course..Through this exam you can join in M.tech course..After qualifying in GATE exam you will be able to take admission in M.tech college depending on your GATE score..

-GATE EXAM -

-it is conducted every year for taking admission in M.TECH.

- you can apply in final and pre-final year .

- there is no cut off in percentage to apply for the gate exam

- there is no age limit for applying for gate exam .

- though gate exam you get admission in IIT AND NIT COLLEGES AND SEVERAL OTHER COLLEGES .

- to take admission in IIT OR NIT COLLEGES you need to score above 99 percentile .

- to clear gate exam you should have good knowledge of your subjects .

- join a gate forum for good preparation .

- take online test for practice .

If you are pursuing B.Tech then you can sit for gate from your 3rd year. And you can give it maximum 3 times.There is no any marks criteria for it.

First of all I would like to mention the eligible criteria for G.A.T.E. examination.

Eligible Criteria for G.A.T.E. Examination :

AGE :-

There is no age limit for GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test Examination). A candidate may appear in this examination as their wish.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION :-

A final year or a pre-final year candidate of graduate with at least 45% marks may appear in this examination.

I think you are eligible. In this year the examination is already over.

This year the GATE examination is held on 12th February,2012 and the result will be declared 15th March,2012. So please try it in the next year.

To appear for GATE there is no such requirement of percentage of marks in B.Tech.

GATE - GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST IN ENGINEERING is a test conducted by IIT for admission to post graduate course in Engineering i.e. M.Tech. in IITs, NITs,BITS etc.

The eligible candidate should be a graduate in Engineering/Architecture from a recognised University.

-:The eligibility criteria for GATE:-

(a) Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology or its equivalent.

(b) Bachelor’s degree holders in Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science/Electronics/ followed by qualifications obtained through an examination conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE.

(c) Bachelor’s degree holders in Architecture/Design (for M Des program only)

(d) Master’s degree holders in Physics with Electronics/Instrumentation (for M Tech programs).

**There are no age limit for candidate.

**3rd year student are eligible for GATE exam.

**GATE score are valid for 2 years.

**Final year student are eligible for GATE exam.

you didn't mentioned what are you studying currently.

Anyway to be eligible for GATE exam you must have completed your b.tech.

yes you can do M.tech in IIT-DELHI if you get a good score in gate exam.

I am doing third year mechanical . Can i apply for gate exam ?

can i appear in gate exam, if i had got year back due to some reason. bt still i have more than 70% aggregate marks. please help me
