Information Regarding GATE Examination.

GATE examination is conducted by the management of IIT college for the admission in the M.Tech course at IIT college. To appear in the GATE examination you need the following eligibility criteria.

Educational Qualification = Bachelor degree in the any branch of the engineering/Technology/Architecture. The final and pre-final year student are also eligible for this exam.

OR

Master degree in any branch of science/Mathematics/Computer Application or equivalent. The final and pre-final year candidates of this stream are eligible to apply for the GATE examination.

NOTE :- There are no limit percentage, age and no. of attempt required to appear in the GATE examination. So, you can appear in the GATE exam at any age and many times according to own wish. Only pass the qualify examination is enough to appear GATE exam.

your engineering marks will not be considered for GATE. u have to score more than 25 marks in gate to get admission in 'any' mtech college, Remember there is different cut off for different branches. for Computer there was cut-off of around 25 marks. but to get good IIT college you will have to score more than 45 to 50 marks.

Hi friend there is no percentage restrictions for applying GATE exam. If you appear for GATE exam your score will be valuable for two more years. There is also no age restrictions.

Generally 60% to 65% is safe , but if you can get 70% to 75 % it will be better for you for any college,because it varies from college to college.

eligibility for gate exam:-

**educational qualification is graduation in engineering with above 60% marks

For the admissions in IIT, you have to appear gate exam and get good score,
i don't think so that, the b.tech percentage ll affect the for entry into M.tech.

How ever if you have proximate 70% or above then it's better and safe.

GATE Examination Details

GATE Stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. The GATE Examination is conducted every year by the Indian Institutes Of Technologies (IITs) and the Indian Institute Of Science - Bangalore.

This Examination is conducted for the admission of B.Tech pass outs in M.Tech course.

Successful candidates can pursue M.Tech in colleges like IITs, NITs, BITS , etc.

The Qualifications Required for GATE are :

Eligibility for GATE

Only the following categories of candidates are eligible to appear for GATE 2013. Candidates with backlogs

Candidates who have appeared in the final semester/year exam in 2012, but with a backlog (arrears/failed subjects) in any of the papers in their qualifying degree should submit

2.A letter from the principal indicating that the student has a backlog from an earlier semester/year to be cleared, and therefore cannot produce a course completion certificate now. GATE(Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering) is an Open exam for candidates who have completed their Bachelor/Post Graduate degree in Technical/Science courses.No marks is required to apply for GATE Exam.Through GATE Score card you can apply for Admission in IIT Engineering colleges for M.Tech course and from GATE Score card you will also be eligible to apply for jobs in Public Sector Undertaking Organizations.

Degree which are valid for GATE Exam are :

- GATE score only valid for 1 year.

- There is no limit in how many years to complete engineering.

- there is no cut off in percentage to apply for the gate exam

- there is no age limit for applying for gate exam .

- though gate exam you get admission in IIT AND NIT COLLEGES AND SEVERAL OTHER COLLEGES .

- to take admission in IIT OR NIT COLLEGES you need to score above 99 percentile .

- to clear gate exam you should have good knowledge of your subjects .

From 2012 pre-final year student can not apply for the GATE EXAM ,only final year student can apply for it.
