is ssc exam is the only way to become a cid officer??if yes, at what time of the year this exam is coducted,where from we will get the examination form???

Staff Selection Commission does not conduct exam for CID.
Every State police has a special wing known as CID which stands for Criminal Investigation Department. To be a part of it you have to join Police Department. To apply for the post of Sub Inspector or Assistant Commissioner of Police candidate needs to be a graduate. To join as a sub inspector you will have to qualify Entrance exam conducted by the state police and to join as an ACP or ASP you will have to qualify Civil Service Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.Once you have joined the police department you may then be considered for CID depending upon your performance in the department as well as your skill required for it.
CID also comprise of various professionals and only experts in a particular field like forensic science are considered for those posts.
