Which subjects should an IT student choose for IAS mains exam?
hi,i m an IT student in nitkkr.....i want to crack IAS exam but unable to choose sub 4 mains exam......plz reply me

Hello friend,
The selection of optional papers in the main exam of civil service must be based on your expertise and interest. Candidates have to choose any two subjects from the following list: Agriculture Mathematics, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Mechanical Engineering, Botany, Medical Science, Chemistry, Philosophy, Civil Engineering, Physics, Commerce,Political Science ,Economics ,Psychology Electrical Engineering Public Administration, Geography, Sociology, Geology, Statistics, Indian History, Zoology,Law. Since you have to choose any two subject, you can not select the following combination of subjects Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration Commerce and Management Anthropology and Sociology Maths and Statistics Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science Management and Public Administration Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science Any two branches of engineering As you can see that you can not select subjects from the same stream, you have to pick the subjects very wisely. You may select any subject no matter which stream you belong to. Its advisable to see the syllabus of the subjects before picking it up. Try to select subjects which has shorter syllabus and you are familiar with.

sir
i m btech final year student ,i wanna crack ias exam .but some confusion to choose optional paper. as i hhave concern my math is good and also i m intrested in but senior students say that it is tough and no proper choching or material avilable, also sujjest me other optional paper having less syllabus with scoring. thank u Rehan
